  2. Just thought I would suggest a listen to Dane's Theme Park Life's podcast interview with Greg on the Motocoaster topic. He directly asked Greg about the future of Motocoaster, and while obviously Greg confirmed nothing specific, he did clearly state that plans for Motocoaster are front-of-mind for Dreamworld, and that they eventually want to incorporate either the ride itself or the land into Rivertown. Greg discussed wanting to set the park up well for the future, and considering the approach that was taken with King Claw, which he directly refers to when answering the Motocoaster question, I doubt that involves keeping the ride around in its current state. A 20-year-old Intamin prototype with a laundry list of operational issues is not exactly something I'd say is a good asset for the future of the park. So I think judging by his answer to that question, the very least we can expect is a substantial overhaul of the ride when the time comes. And considering that The Claw was considered end-of-life at 20 years old, when it's an Intamin product that isn't a prototype and doesn't have a totally one-of-a-kind restraint system, I think we should keep an eye on that part of the park in the next couple of years or so. Moto conversation occurs at about 31:30 in the episode if you want to skip to that specific section. Dane has actually had Greg on his podcast twice and both episodes are thoroughly worth a listen.
  3. The tape could denote cylinders that need repair/replacement. They used to have a bad habit of cracking the clevis at the bottom of the cylinder mount, that and internally, the spring inside sometimes randomly breaks and it rattles around inside. No real worry about brake operation when open, but during a shutdown you have the perfect chance to inspect them thoroughly.
  4. I really hope this inspires them to bring back the Luna Ghost.
  5. It's almost as if making the park a circuit instead of a bunch of dead ends makes sense!
  6. DCeased is in Intencity, the other 4 are up the back behind West. You can get to it through Wizard of Oz or West.
  7. So hope for a few trees to fall on it and create an insurance payout. Gotcha.
  8. For those who attended opening night - where are each of the mazes located? MW has decided not to put that info on the website or app versions of the park map, nor listed it on the individual maze pages on the website. trying to plan our movements for the night in advance to get the most out of it (when visiting with interstate friends who also want to get on some rides) Assuming DCeased is still in the old arcade/dodgems - are the other 4 all in the 2 sheds out the back of West?
  9. Greg Yong* The ride consistently gets a queue, though how much of that is attributed to slow operations due to an incredibly clunky harness system, i'm not sure. The park is still on a razor thin line, so I can't see them binning a perfectly operational attraction, no matter how average it is, until it reaches end of life or becomes uneconomical to operate.
  10. I think Greg young and the team are not silly to simply retheme Motorcoaster, they know the operations and in general the ride is average. Once funds permit them to do so, a new attraction will replace it.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Should have 'accidentally' gotten rid of it when removing Rocky Holly or ToT
  13. Motocoaster was a prototype and is approaching 20 years old. it's copped a lot of hate it's whole life. I'd love to see them consider other options for the site than simply retheming the ride - though if they can improve on the restraint design as part of the retheme that could revitalise it.
  14. A Tiny Tease they just gave out. And from what I can Tell, They Probably have a New Lighting Display for the Spooky Castle at Night, but IDK, just pure speculation..
  15. The general store and Motocoaster are going to be re-themed at some point, and the fencing in that area could be installed along the train line to help hide the BoH areas. I wouldn't assume it's going to land-fill, I would expect it is being stored for (and was possibly originally intended for) those purposes.
  16. They’re all no good either. Everything being stored in that area won’t be used and will end up in landfill, or be repurposed in some other way. I’d say that Rivertown is pretty much complete, but it’s a forever evolving land and I don’t think the park will ever just be done.
  17. What about the other pieces which look to be apart of the building? I would like to believe JR isn’t 100% complete but who knows if that’s all DW are doing or if there is still more to be added. The water feature at the entrance where the Gem is lasted half a minute… and the second one… I’ve never seen it on yet.
  18. These were non compliant fences, and can't be used.
  19. There’s still lots of theming elements sitting around in the former Rocky Hollow area. I wonder when and where they’ll be added to Rivertown?
  20. Last week
  21. The most I saw it go up to when I was there was 20mins, which was impressive considering how busy it was.
  22. Yea I did, we walked past several times in the day and rode twice, the wait was advertised 15mins most times, at one point it said 30 but we got on in 10. Incredibly popular ride, and seems to be an absolute monster with riders p/h
  23. @Sammus77 did you notice what the wait time was for Dreamworld Flyer? That ride has become the most popular in the park and with the largest capacity per cycle in the country it gets through crowds real quick. It does take a while to load though with so many seats to fill and check.
  24. I'm glad to hear Jungle Rush is doing well operationally, it definitely presented itself as a ride that could go either way when I visited twice earlier this year. First visit was fantastic on 2 trains and seemed to be running super efficiently. Second visit was on 1 train and slow operations even considering the reduced capacity. It's a ride with the capability to chew up crowds, and our Aussie parks have a tendency not to take advantage of that, so I'm glad to hear Jungle Rush is doing that, even if that's the bare minimum really. Sky Voyager is always slow, it's decent capacity per cycle but long gaps between cycles, which is honestly worse because you stand in the same spot in queue for so long.
  25. My family and I were there on Saturday, we found one of the few car parks left down the very far back of the car park, haven’t had to do that in many many years! The park was heaving, the atmosphere was awesome! And thankfully the rides/staff kept up! The longest we waited for jungle rush was 25mins (that thing is an absolute people eater when operated well) sky voyager never dropped below 60 so we missed that one, and I agree with the train, it was unbelievably slow, both stations took at least 10mins to unload/load. We couldn’t work out why, but it was painful. And a lot of people being turned away because it was full. All kids rides were either a walk in or one ride wait. Couldn’t really fault them overall for such a busy day! My last trip to MV was mid week with not many guests, and we waited at least 20-30 for a basic kids spinner! A great day dreamworld! Noticed A few nice new pieces of Rivertown merch as well!
  26. I’ve been hearing a lot of rumours and speculation online that Funfields are planning on building some kind of roller-coaster next year. Pretty much all the major Aussie theme park YouTubers have mentioned it in podcasts/live streams and I’ve seen numerous comments about it online. Supposedly, a planning document was leaked from the park that confirmed a coaster was coming. However, I can’t find anything about it anywhere. Apparently it was doing the rounds on social media about a month ago, but if it existed, it seems to have now been scrubbed from the internet. Does anyone know anything about this supposed “leaked document” and if there’s any truth to this rumour at all?
