  1. The park was officially opened today on June 3rd, 1991 ? Hard to believe it's already a quarter of a century old!! Here's a bunch of my pics from over the years, both old and new. It's been such a blast having this theme park in my life ???

  3. In terms of operational ability etc it's fantastic. I love what it has allowed them to do - but the aesthetics - the 'escaping from everydayland' - the feeling of walking through a street that is set somewhere in yesteryear, and feeling like you're on a film set... thats the part that the roof has affected, and is the only reason I dislike it.

  4. Move along kids, nothing to see here (You'd think I would have been smart enough to check that before I closed it wouldn't you)

  5. I like how they said a number of. So hopefully this means the roller coaster will still be coming as well as the hotels.

  6. I know the park had their celebrations today, but I wish they made a bigger deal about it. When I went to Universal Studios Japan back in March they were celebrating their 15th anniversary, with a big sign out the front, promotions all around the park, a special parade, tonnes of merchandise, and multiple attractions to celebrate. I know it's Universal, and not saying they need to do it to that scale, but I feel like MW could have had a sign out the front like this one, promoting the celebration. An celebrations for a couple of weeks, rather than just the smaller banners down Main Street.

  8. I used a selfie stick. A monopod or tripod would work but the selfie stick is easier and doesn't make you as obvious. I noticed they moved the machines around to stop people (well me) from getting close enough but still managed to get the shots

  13. One of my main memories from the first time I went o Movie World was a machine in the Looney Tunes Area which was a robot that served soft drinks. Does anyone else remember this or is my mind dreaming again?

  14. I have a love/hate relationship with the roof. I love what it has allowed the park to do and what they can do with it/hang from the roof. However I much preferred the atmosphere the park had without it and all the massive trees that lined Main Street. I feel the same about the video screen. It allows people to see what's going on all over Main Street, but I don't like how you can no longer see the Daily Planet building properly.

  16. I gotta say I had way more fun on Kawasemi than I did Steel Dragon or Fujiyama despite Kawasemi being nearly 1/3 both their height. I guess it's the same idea that's been proven with rides like Maverick, these days the money you spend on a one trick pony like Top Thrill Dragster or Tower of Terror could be better spent on something innovative.

  17. I'd be happy with a forceful hyper coaster with a long layout over a giga coaster that half the budget is blown on the first drop.
