  3. Steel Curtain has just had its first test run at Kennywood. I don't care if it looks like someone's first Roller Coaster Tycoon design, it looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to ride it.

  4. So, to recap, according to @pushbutton : Everyone is as entitled to an opinion as he is Everyone's opinion is equally valid Expressing your opinion is what internet discussion boards are for 4. If @pushbutton decides he doesn't like what you have to say, then 1-3 do not apply.

  5. From Dreamworlds Facebook page ”The Queensland Government today announced it will inject $2.7million dollars into Dreamworld, helping expand the Corroboree area with a world-class research facility. The Dreamworld Future Lab will be the first of its kind in Queensland and will help support Dreamworld’s conservation drive. See it begin to take shape soon.”

  10. Is this some sort of secret movie world page? Or is this posted on their public facing page? Because i'm just wondering why names need to be blacked out when its publicly accessible through the FB platform?

  11. You have to take the hit for sure. Wonderland used to close the beach down over winter and I am sure not all staff were retained in other areas of the park. WnW GC does the same thing. They hire some extra staff for the peak period but they usually are on a temp contract only and dropped after said date. The work elsewhere is a very true statement. People can't hang around waiting for a company to decide what they'll do. I have seen this first hand as @AlexB has mentioned. Usually, senior management and staff are the only acceptions to the rule. Continuity. God this is something that is hard. Every season you struggle right at the beginning. New rules, new staff etc just make things hard. It is in fact how many overseas seasonal parks reacts to such a same issue. You need to keep a group of core workers but trying to keep them happy is hard also. Because they become to continuity season to season. Staff cutbacks are better. Running at minimal is better than say shutting down slides to work on a rotating basis That never works and always causes the guest to be terribly upset and annoyed. Also gives a bad reputation to any park.

  12. The weather in Perth is pretty lousy, this weekend, but I did manage to get to Outback Splash for a couple of hours. Not a lot has happened with the slides. Someone has been playing around with the different parts, assembling them over the grass, although a lot are out of view. It appears some concrete has been poured for the slide footings/footers. A fence and or trees have been removed from the front of the park. A couple of piles of bricks have appeared near the west side, and there’s 50% off merch - bonus!

  13. Well that’s up to personal choice @Grad3s I quite like spending a few hours every couple of months at Paradise Country, as do my family and apparently many more by what I see on my visits. its low key, relaxed and easy to get around. As for the Bullen family, does it really matter what they used to do? Isn’t what they do now more important?

  14. That and the fact that VRTP's already adhere to extremely strict and thorough safety practices. The new requirements (at least for them) would be minimal to no difference.

  15. I'm glad this attraction is being removed it looks cheap and ugly, I don't really care if it's replaced with nothing.

  16. The main problem I see here is that this is a 3 day a week attraction which runs only for the holidays. So people are going to visit PC and 4 times out of 7, walk in, realise how boring the place still is (especially without the tiger cubs) and walk back out again. Personally I believe going to see Dreamworld's Tiger Cubs is much more enjoyable, then you can walk around to Tiger Island and watch the show, spend alot longer there. Also did the bullen family not run circuses with animals (against what VRTP believe?)
