  1. Council has just approved an application for 17 trees to be removed. A few are for the construction of the new coaster, and some are due to recent large branch falls onto what would be high traffic areas had the park been open.

  3. I honestly could not care less if they get rid of the castle, sure it has been there for a long time. But getting rid of the castle will not only give an excuse to remove the hideous corpse of Viking's Revenge, but also free up space for future development.

  4. Maybe the new show is staff only. Like a little cabaret show.

  5. Well if they’ve been there for that long and you’ve seen them why are you surprised nobody has posted them if you yourself didn’t post them??

  6. Occasionally I'll search through tender websites for theme park projects and yesterday's search at work had delivered some treasure. Here is what is worth noting: This is what the queue line and station looks like. It would appear they are going with a snake skeleton shade structure. Exit Path. There will be 2 tunnels. This is the modern entrance sign is going next to Sky Voyager in Main Street. They will be cutting and filling a sizeable amount of the coaster's site. As a result there will be a large, imposing retaining wall on the Giant Drop side. A look at the station structure. It looks the same as Rivals or Green Lantern. Ramp up to station. An overview of the site. I do not know how this will integrate with Buzzsaw. There is a lot of mentions of the name "Steel Taipan" in the documents, which must be the name they are going to use. When you go to the Australian Trade Mark Search website (https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/trademarks/search/quick/result?q=ardent+leisure) you can see they have trademarked that name already. If the trademarks are anything to go by, you would also assume that Sidewinder may be renamed GoldCoaster (or The Gold Coaster or something like that) once when it opens again. There is a lot of PDF files in the tender that were cool to check out including Mack PDF files. Happy to upload them somewhere or send them to Parkz to upload if you all are interested to look at the tender further. And before anyone rages about leaks these files are easily available on the tender site and those names are found on the public Aussie trademark website.

  7. Correct me if im wrong but the pathway in won't be level? Also Painted themed column bases along paths Wait space for 3 trains, meaning preloading 3 trains of guests onto markers Appears to be only 1 service bay, so maximum 2 Trains Photo Kiosk wall, no merch store Digital wait time (should be standard on all rides now) "Instagram Feature" Dreamworlds world famous seating is going into the observation section, with water, next to the entry point Test Seat Weatherproof storage lockers 203m of queue Express, Single and Spinner seat have combined 60m length Assuming Express, Single and Spinner queue is on the left and splits into 1 for each 1/2 way down

  8. How about we cool it with the faux outrage? Nothing here comes anywhere near personal attacks, gate-keeping or passive aggressive, so this whole exchange is thoroughly uninteresting.

  9. Despite the Universal Orlando HHN event not running this year, the park decided to still open their event tribute store. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a themed store based around that year’s event and they sell merch, etc. With Fright Nights not going ahead I’d love to see Movie World do a similar thing. I was thinking the building to the right of Main Street, just before you walk under the roof, would be an ideal location for said store. It could include some pros from last years event or even previous year’s if they still have them. And sell general merch for the event and possibly old merch from previous years. Maybe it could open for the entirety of October. That allows for people to stilol enjoy a small part of the event this year. @Bikash Randhawa just a possible idea for the park, if it hasn’t already been considered

  10. You can run the train backwards or the other way so to speak, both sides of the carriages are accessible. I have done some considerable research into this possibility, the gradient and curve coming out of Billabong and back to central is also pretty mad. A wet day and you would struggle to get a full load up there. At present, it is the steepest grade in the park, but it’s ok because you are going in the down direction. I am very curious as to how they are going to do this. When construction starts at that end of the park, the area is going to change quite considerably.

  11. I thought it had been a pretty major piece of news at the time of the announcement that Australia was finally getting a modern wooden coaster? That has long been something lacking considering most major parks will have a good modern one. I'm not saying you have to be a connoisseur, but it was announced over a year ago....

  12. How about a 3D film of virtual rides, because you know, sea world doesn’t have any rides right now, so may as well take the guests to a place that actually does have rides.. For those who don’t know, this is sarcasm.

  13. That would have been my same reply. It's absolute gold that Rich liked this post though! A joke eh? That's your original post. There is no hint of anything that might suggest you were joking. Your statement is serious. There is nothing 'silly' about it - You even went on to explain the draconian behavior of your parents to explain it in later posts. "Naw, guys, c'mon, it was just a joke" isn't going to wash buddy. Own your comments.

  14. Quite the opposite. Unless that new curve is graded really gently, it’s not going to work. Even the Baldwin would struggle with a full load up and through that curve. Stand at the end of Main Street station and look down to the track approaching Rocky Hollow. It’s very deceptive. That coupled with the fact it will be a tight curve, I’m very interested in seeing how it handles it that’s for sure..

  15. I visited WnW this morning and here is a look at the scales that were talked about earlier in the year Extensive maintenance work is happening on Calypso Beach And while I didn't get a photo of it, the shade sail has returned to the Black Hole and it appears all works on the structure are now complete

  16. I’m surprised it took that long for those plans to be posted on parkz. These plans had been online on tenderone for 3 months now.

  17. I’d say some trigger happy safety fun police has decided it needs a secondary safety and can’t just be on its shaft (which would have been engineered in the first place). This is the future of theming in Australia folks. The balance of logic in this country has gone towards extra safety to the point of even if it impacts on show. We’ll never have theme parks with the level of show immersion as overseas again as a result of this. You’ll never justify hiding an exit sign as it distrusts the theming or having an authentic prop like this again. That’s just the way it’s going to be. And the over engineering and safety analysis will add so much to the cost of doing anything less money will be available for theming. This is just the reality in Australia now, past incidents have forced the governments hand and we just have to live with that as sad as it is.

  18. Just realised that the Leviathan will be a wooden coaster. I find that very surprising considering the modern transition to steel.

  19. It was a joke about that "silly idea that teenagers burnt the house down out of revenge for people showering naked"! It was never meant to be serious.
