Tornado and Kamikaze have reopened at WnW

Strange to see how empty the space looks without the ride, it really dominated that back section of the park. As stated before, the Ranger’s electronic components will be reused to bring another HUSS classic back to life. I believe the shell of the ride including the arm, deck and gondola are being delivered to a local showman, however there are no plans currently in place to refurbish or restore the ride.

Crane is on site this morning for the Mach 5 removal

So I decided to make a little rough concept art for an expansion and remodel of WNW. With Mach 5 gone and the unsure outcome with Black hole. I thought if they decided to gut the entire H2O zone and start from scratch this would be a cool idea. This is a rough concept so excuse the quality. This plan has the follow: New food outlets around the area along with lockers, toilets etc... Water slide Wheel (White Water West) A Mammoth style water coaster (ProSlide) Rain-fortress and Splash pad area (White Water West) Tower 1: (Proslide) Tornado 60 enclosed Tornado Wall 60 Tantrum Alley Tower 2: (Proslide) Bowl Alley Family raft slide UFO Raft slide Tower 3: (Polin) 2 Family single raft slides Corba Waterslide I feel like this plan gives the park some good solid waterslides for thrill seekers and family. Along with some gimmicky stuff and world class stuff. I doubt we would ever see investment off this size at WNW. But we can dream. (Also the Poling slide complex comes from the original concept art from Outback Splash)

There is approx 6,500 square metres of land that will become available once the attraction is removed. They can do something awesome. But will they?

Joz is right, there were some silly decisions that occured post TRR, however if mistakes have been learnt from the past, then maybe they should be given the benefit of the doubt? This project has commenced under the guidance of the new management structure, the new management structure that felt the brunt of those previous mistakes. I’m sure they are keen to not repeat those mistakes.

Some shots form this morning. You can see an organ fence has been installed along the path leading towards the tower. @AlexB no sign of line markings on the stairs and I couldn’t see a queue area at the bottom either

And hopefully they installed fans with misters too to keep the area cool. On another note I hope the blue Temple of Huey doesnt stay that colour because it looks awful. Better than covered in shit, but it won’t work with the Solid blue on the bottom half

Inside the queue does ramp down a little, but it elevated quite a bit. The majority of that elevated area is outdoor queuing for the GD anyways, so if they were to remove it (which they couldn’t) it would cause the additional queuing area to intrude on the new pathway they’ve built

That thing going above the stairs will probably just be a sign to say ‘Giant Drop Entry’

Even though it is very simple and they’ve reused the arch, I love that signage
