  2. Please, Luna Park, don't depart from what there already is! I just want them to keep the neon Big Dipper sign and leave it as that.

  3. I'm surprised you'd even know what the mid-2000's looked like. Luna Park is very much retro-focussed, with classics like the Rotor, the Wild Mouse and Coney Island. Ultra modern and edgy just doesn't fit the theme they've got going to begin with, so if you're picking up retro vibes from it, they've probably hit it on the head.

  5. I was about to reply to this to explain why that might be best avoided, and then you nailed it yourself. Scooby is great, but the Gremlins adventure was a real 'movie magic' experience. Superman is awesome, but it took away the last bastion of 'movie making' in the park. Heck, young einstein gravity homestead shit all over dodgem cars. There aren't many examples today though of a replacement being better than what it replaced, and sadly, reminding everyone of such a classic as say - police academy - and then showing them what they replaced it with... sadly thats not the image you want to give to guests.

  6. Well the Luna Park social media team has unveiled the "Boomerang" to the public: https://fb.watch/58rhT-5RFu/ There's even a nice video to go with it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoe3kOIWhQ4&t=55s

  8. I can't find 1987 results but draw 1621 Saturday 01/02/1997 were 25, 8, 15, 39, 34, 37, 44 and 42 with a division 1 prize pool of $2.3 million.

  9. Still trying to find out if this post is legit or not. So take with grain of salt.

  10. Pretty much, separate the cars and put them on a forklift. I think the superman building gets used for general storage and work because it's a big shed with a lot of spare space.

  11. the superman maintenance bay is a huge inpark bay that they can just put coaster trains in to work on them. Saves having to shift them to the back end of the park to a maintenance shed somewhere

  12. So maybe there is possibility that it was in fact Rivals in there... The features of the train were somewhat easy to distinguish because some of the flood lights (or whatever lights they have in there) were on.

  13. For whatever reason I believe Superman’s is a more general maintence bay. Have definitely seen GL trains there, and JL cars when I did the Star Tour.

  14. That's fair I guess. My vision must've blurred because it was during the launch sequence. But I really positively thought I saw a disconnected Rivals train in there... Maybe it was a dismantled Superman train. I didn't see any other colour except for black seats and grey as well as steel checker plates there. I remember during the most recent school holidays, one of the staff members told me (when Rivals was open and only operating one train during three-hour waits) that the second train wasn't in the Rivals maintenance bay, but in fact, somewhere else within Movieworld - that's probably what lead me to think the above statement. Does the little maintenance bay/s within the Superman footprint (next to the launch track) get utilised by other attractions? I remember seeing a few Green Lantern carriages there during the Christmas holidays...

  15. I don’t think they would have a rivals train in the super man maintenance bay. Rivals has its own maintenance bay, so what you saw might have just been the superman train

  16. https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/business/dreamworld-ceo-greg-yong-says-cashedup-company-is-planning-new-major-attractions-for-park/news-story/2d6991d18ea55af33584d6a14a64422d Here's where the images came from. So yeah unfortunately I haven't found a live CCTV feed - though that would be greatly appreciated should we have access to one. If the link fails to load the above article, use this: https://www.news-mail.com.au/news/dreamworld-shopping-for-next-ride/4244246/ Should you fail to see ALL CCTV images posted in the earlier post, a simple Google search of "Steel Taipan CCTV" should do the trick

  17. Why is there a half dot a different size to the rest? Anyhow, the video is on the ride page What is also interesting is that we can discern the other ride names by looking at the trophies on the website you can earn for each ride: The "New Thrill Ride" would indeed be Sledgehammer. Freaky Frogs Loopy lighthouse

  18. This is the best logo we've seen for the new rides so far IMO. It's nice and simplistic, and would look good lit up on a 3D or 2D sign.

  19. Seriously? You wanna get us the Saturday lotto numbers from 1987 while you're at it?

  20. I think you HAVE to be looking at a water ride for the park. It’s in desperate need now and it has to he as far away in public opinion from the two home made rides they had, so go super modern. The two other things the park needs is weenies and restoration of theming to OCEAN parade. So I really feel they need a nice big splash boat ride, obviously with the theming tweaked for the Ocean Parade theme but Intamin makes an off the shelf model that not only fits but ticks the boxes. Plus the vertical lift is a nice gimmick.

  23. Just found out that 9Now has all 4 episodes of the series. They all 45 minutes approximately in duration. Episodes 1 & 2 was the double episode screened last Tuesday night on television. I now expect again that Channel 9 will screen either two 2 hour episodes over 2 weeks or two 1-hour episodes plus the 2-hour 1st episode over 3 weeks. What week(s) these other episode(s) is/are to be screened during I don't know but I assume it will be before Lego Masters finish it's latest season. This is unless the 1st double episode on television rated poorly and Channel 9 decided to just let people watch it on 9Now if they wish instead.
