  1. Here’s the view of the The Gold Coaster from WhiteWater World yesterday. It appears that repainting has basically been completed with only some small areas that still require a repaint. Also I think that the queue line is also being repainted to match the new colour scheme judging from this shot.

  2. I like that colour scheme and design from what I can see. I don't mind that it's using 2D flats unlike this monstrosity

  4. It will appear again with it new name and new photos soon, it almost finish being repainted and new name is already been installed on queue entry. They will likely make announcement soon on reopening before adding new name and details to the website

  5. It is pretty wild that overtime as the parks have expanded and improved their offerings that the passes have technically gotten cheaper. I'd say the justification is that the more people they can get through their gates the better but I honestly wonder whether it's a quantity over quality issue? Also I agree that people would be outraged if they had to pay those prices for Movie World but I wonder why they got away with it back in the day. Has the quality of the park changed? $50 is way too cheap for a season pass. Hell even $99 is. I honestly can't fathom how they make a profit with those prices.

  6. I mean wasn’t that just plain shit. It’s both a mash together of things already very publicly known and sitting on the internet and contains no real history of the ride. Also says nothing of why the ride had its ‘empty’ period and got next gen in the first place. The projections whilst questionable don’t replace any theming except in one spot (the post wild mouse jungle room) so they may not add anything. But they replaced a blank wall and a plain mirror. The ‘disco’ room doesn’t contain any lasers or fog. It has a period of some terrible lasers and no fog. And since received an extensive upgrade of 50 odd moving lights and a lot of LED lighting. So yeah, save yourself the 10mins.

  7. They also brought POS trains that destroyed the track... Yes it required a bit more maintenance due to the sea air and the age of the ride, but I think if they hadn't replaced the trains with the Kumbak ones it would have lasted a while longer. I know the Python at Efteling got the same Kumbak trains in 2005 and then in 2011 were replaced with the Venom trains again like we currently see on Sidewinder. Interestingly most of the track was replaced and rebuilt by a different builder in 2018 as well. Wonder how much damage the Kumbak trains caused lol

  8. @shokupanjamin yeah I noticed it a few days ago. It isn’t mysterious as they are preparing the website to feature the new name and information, etc. The coaster hasn’t been listed on the map since the park reopened, but they did update the tracks colour

  9. No I think there just gearing up for a announcement of the ride (name, trains, etc) and removing all sidewinder references so it doesn’t look odd when sidewinder and the gold coaster are on the website if that makes sense

  10. Food & beverage sales, plus merch. And also it gets the place looking busier, which attracts people. Plus those cheap pass people might drag friends along who pay more. And ultimately, 1000 passes at $50 is a greater income of 0 passes at $99. Many of those purchases will be impulse buys, rather than price watchers waiting for a cheaper option (as $99 is a reasonably good price anyway). We have no plans to buy a pass in the next 6 months at the moment, but had I have qualified, I would have bought one for each of my family.

  11. I imagine the station will be themed to a 90's Surf Life Saving Clubs tavern interior. Not deliberately, it will just end up looking like that.
