Here's a plan of the layout:

For scale you can see the original toboggan cut off on the right side of the image.

Also, TIL Stuart Diver is the GM of Thredbo.

That layout looks great very promising and a great location

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere else, but is anyone excited about an Alpine Coaster coming to Thredbo, or know any more details about its construction???

Interesting... If not a strange addition. Im surprised they got approved to build that in the national park. Also interesting that it's a year round coater. I always though most cosasters had a minimum operating temp (wheels, fluids etc) that would prevent it from operating in the winter...

Visually this seems to be a similar toboggan style system.

I think you're reaching.

Don't misunderstand my comment - i'm surprised we haven't heard about it until now, not how fast they've built it.

This isn't something they've gotten done in a couple of weeks. Construction work has to have been going for quite some time to reach the stage they're at (probably since the thaw - maybe 6 months ago?) plus they're in their off season too.

Unfortunately nearmap doesn't cover thredbo village so its not something we can step back and look at.
