@STRAWS you’re probably right, otherwise it would be all of the news that people got trapped

Honestly, Movieworld might have wanted that. When you search Green Lantern Movieworld online you still get restuls for the major incident, and people being "stuck" might have pushed that off the first page of google results.

It's probably a damn sight easier to winch back an El Loco than it was for Rivals. I doubt it'll be down too long

considering it’s down for maintenance starting the 23rd of July until September, i’m going to assume it’ll be closed until September.

Kansas Twister has also had a maintenance date added for July 22nd - August 19th.

FOTWW also has a maintenance dated added starting October 14th - November 26th (no dates have been written but it says it will be down for planned maintenance from these dates.)

I find it strange that KT has scheduled maintenance this early, it has two tracks, two trains so I wonder why they are not just doing maintenance on one side and still operating the other side?

I would like to think if there is track maintenance they need to do they couldn't do it in the evening or morning time so they don't need to touch it while in day operation and for the train maintenance they could just remove the train from the track? I feel one day shut down is better than 3 months?

I was there today, and there were two men working on the spike of the orange track. One harnessed and sitting on top, and one hanging underneath. They were slowly making their way higher up the spike. I guess that’s why neither side is operating given they’re working within the ride area. Also one of the KT trains was half out of the station and the front car was disconnected from the rest of the train. Never seen something like that before!

Maintenance teams can only be within the ride envelope if the ride is locked down, so therefore anything track related be that inspections, maintenance, upkeep etc cannot occur with the ride operational in any way.

track maintenance isn’t going to happen under the cover of dark from a logistics, costing and operational standpoint, and the maintenance and ride tech crew have enough to do in the morning hours with pre-opening checks to do any arduous maintenance. It’s off peak season, now is the time to close the ride and get what needs to be done, done
