This one came out in 2023. Probably just came out of the new release overnight hires and into the weekly shelves - apparently Africa was the first in a 12-part series for the flying theatre, so I look forward to seeing them all come out eventually

Brogent takes IAAPA to Africa in their new Flying Theatre movie – DRdb

Quote

The Africa movie shown in Amsterdam was the full 10-minute version. During this time, guests are taken on a journey through 30 stunning locations across the African continent, showcasing everything from breathtaking natural landscapes, like Victoria Falls and the Sahara to the majestic pyramids of Giza. The scenes are seamlessly connected using creative transitions, some employing techniques never before used in Brogent’s flying theaters. Additionally, the movie fully utilizes the I-Ride’s sensory features, incorporating scents, wind, and water spray for a more immersive experience.

Hopefully we get the full ten minutes and they don't skimp on the lemon dishwashing scent.

Has anyone had a chance to ride yet? I’ve heard very good things between Facebook comments and a few YouTube videos (one I read said it was the single best flying theatre experience ever (hard to believe)but all the same I’m very curious. There’s lots of good feedback, but no real details about the experience or why it’s apparently so great! Would love some details? 😁

I rode it today, it seems like the film is way brighter, I’m not sure if they reversed the screen but it’s crystal clear and way more immersive! I unfortunately didn’t get to experience the Australia film as I ran out of time but from Africa people were screaming of joy in the more exciting parts with is something I did not experience in the America film

I waited to after the holidays to take flight because when I went during the holidays the queue exceeded 1 hour.  The quality of the image on the screen has improved but there is a but.  You can see light boxes behind the image.  The reflection onto the screen of emergency exit signs is annoying but I do not know how you fix the reflection because you can’t position the signage anywhere you want.

The film was immersive, and it has a couple of moments where the audience gasps.  The film felt short but I’m not sure if it was short compared to the other productions because I didn’t time it or felt short because I was immersed in it and lost track of time.

It is a defendant must see and DW are doing an excellent job mixing up films.

You've always been able to see the emergency exit signage through the screen. It's not a reflection - it's behind the screen. It has always bothered me, but i've just discounted it as being the price you pay for "cheap soarin'"

Some theatrical installations have been able to get exceptions allowing them to have emergency lighting shut off 'during performance' and automated so that they kick on in an emergency but I suspect that there are hoops to jump through which may be too expensive or labour prohibitive to implement here.

Great to hear the new film is well received. Have they posted an end-date to the film yet?

I also got to see Africa yesterday! The park was so unbelievably quiet we saw it 4 times in just over an hour. I have to say it was impressive! Some of the visuals were beautiful, there were also a few small jump scares which had some people screaming. (Joyfully) it’s worth making the trip for sure. By far the best screening yet at dreamworld.
Two of the rides had guests clapping when the ride ended. I really hope dreamworld keeps up the multiple show options, and don’t go back to 6-12mths of just the Australian version. I also agree the screen appears much clearer than recent memory. It was easily the busiest ride in the park. The rain had something to do with it of course but it was clear people were loving it!

Very pleased to report that during today's showings the emergency signs behind the screen are interlocked with the front barrier lighting and as a result now extinguish before the barriers lower and illuminate after they re-raised.
