You're blowing this up bigger than it is @Levi  I have no issues with you thinking it's fine and I'm not trying to convince you or anyone otherwise.

you’re here complaining about a power outlet behind a wall and I’m replying to you, that’s how it works here I fear… you love replying to anyone and saying whatever you like so I think it’s fine if everyone does the same x

It's kind of funny that as human beings we're on this Earth for such a short period of time and people are devoting literal ~hours~ of their day and getting genuinely worked up over a fucking power outlet on a fake wall in a theme park in Australia. Not hating either way, I mean you do you but I can't help but just think it's kind of funny...

KIND OF FUNNY!

I visited the park for the first time in a while yesterday and the biggest improvement that really stood out to me was how much more immersive and complete Rivertown feels now that the old TOT building has been painted go away green. Having that big white shed sitting in the back of the land was always somewhat distracting and took away from the experience a little bit (despite how great everything else in the land was). Now that this has been rectified, it blends in so much better and really doesn’t catch your eye like it used to.

There have been some more general improvements this week.

Umbrellas have been added throughout Rivertown and they match the aesthetic of the land

The front outdoor seating area for Kenny’s Fried Chicken is now finished, and they’ve begun works on the courtyard area to the left. This has been fenced off for years now, but they’ve ripped up the decking, so hopefully it means it will reopen soon.

Goldie the Eagle has a new enclosure, but remains fenced off to guests while she adapts to the new home

Some of the timber buildings out the front of the former sheep shearing building have been removed (presumably they were damaged during the cyclone)

For this years Winterfest, they have moved the ice slide to be on the former Flowrider land (Winterfest is a lot more congregated within Ocean Parade this year and it made this area of the park feel so much better because it was actually being used).

And not an improvement, but I noticed this last remaining sign for the former vintage cars located under the ramps of the Giant Drop.

This is a minor thing to note, but behind these ramps (which I imagine isn’t used by many guests often), but it’s pretty messy. There’s construction fencing, left over Happy Halloween stuff, a scissor lift and hoarding just laying on the ground. This is a nice little throwback to Rocky Hollow though!

Yesterday was the first day of the school holidays, but the park was pumping. The park was probably the busiest I’ve seen it in several years now and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Wait times for rides varied, but the maximum I saw was 45 minutes for Murrisspi Motors and Jungle Rush. Multiple trains on the coasters. Jane’s was busy, people were spread across the park and there was a really nice vibe about it all.

For comparison, Movie World’s car park was looking pretty empty compared to normal and the longest wait time was 40 minutes (DC Rivals with one train operations).

Deepest apologies, just arrived at Seaworld and the info that guest services gave me online was incorrect. The team here were also great and assessed the injury clearing her for everything.

I'm not surprised you got 2 different answers

These 2 are the ones i don't really like, as they block any chance of getting a great photo of the entrance.

Noticed a couple things at the park today. First of all, the roof looks so much better now that the painting is complete.

I also happened to notice that the park have finally replaced a lot of the old standard rubbish bins with these new proper theme park style ones, similar in design to what you see in many big parks around the world. They look great and are even colour matched to fit the theming in certain areas too. IMG_8477.thumb.jpeg.8f7fca1becf27a1a1123fae2cb65c091.jpegIMG_8480.thumb.jpeg.13682ecbddc1bf80f24baa981d04bc9b.jpeg

Some of the bins have been placed in front of the Remota Boats and the pool has been drained. I hope this is just a temporary thing during maintenance and they’re not retiring them. IMG_8482.thumb.jpeg.d45bc2a0befe724f00799bf0e3c5aafb.jpegIMG_8483.thumb.jpeg.c0435e7b6c48ada2ae0eada76ad37862.jpeg

They’ve also changed the background music in Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland. Instead of playing generic pop music, they’re now playing whimsical/old timey music which is a really big improvement and fits the atmosphere a lot better IMHO.

I've visited a couple times in the past few weeks - I have a few thoughts..

  • The staff are absolutely the park's best asset. everyone we encountered had a really great attitude and were all trying to go the extra mile wherever they could.
  • Giant Drop is screaming for something else in that area to draw people down. it's a long slog to visit one singular ride. I'd like to see a pathway from Taipan to GD - either through the envelope, or around the back way where the train line used to be. I'm sure this will come when they develop Rocky Hollow, but that can't come soon enough.
  • I did notice those bins on our most recent visit and they are a great improvement to the older style with the added recycling benefits.
  • I wonder if the park could partner with a local charity or fundraising effort to donate containers for change? Maybe even do something like grill'd where they have 2 or 3 local groups looking to fundraise and you can 'vote' where you want your portion to go to?
  • The park is such a hodge podge and patchwork of areas - looking tired in a spot they haven't gotten to yet, but everywhere they have gotten to looks amazing. It's clear they're continuing with this park-wide spruce up and I can't wait until they're finished
  • I know it is the off season - so the expected maintenance was understandable on two of the park's four 'adult' coasters - however the breakdowns on attractions that were open were disappointing. In a half day visit, we experienced breakdowns \ faults \ ride stoppages on 4 of the 5 rides we lined up for.
  • While it was almost certainly just bad luck or bad timing, it wasn't something we've had happen on previous visits and it gave the impression that maintenance wasn't up to standards. While the staff were great - the communication during break downs needed to be improved.
  • Additionally to the breakdowns, reduced capacity was an issue too - with multiple attractions closed for maintenance, one would think some ops crew would be available to bulk up other attractions. GD only running one side made that queue far longer than it needed to be given the crowds in the park. On one of our visits, Sky Voyager had multiple seats locked out - and the need to balance the gondola meant the same number of seats on the opposite side also had to be taken out of service.
  • The new exit shop\photo centre is great. looks clean and fresh and is a great way for folk to finish their day. It was a little disappointing that the range of 'generic' product with absolutely no ties to Dreamworld took up the bulk of the space. I'd love to see the park invest in some more 'something I can only get here'. In particular, (and this is me sounding like a broken record) - a nice quality polo in a dri-fit style fabric.
  • King Claw progress looking good - I saw the test seat still out in the carpark ready for install. With the focus shifting back to Ocean Parade I do hope they have plans to freshen that area - especially the old trolls village \ kevil hill. While they do use it for activations from time to time, seeing it sit in prime space the rest of the year is just sad.
  • The carpark construction fencing is a major problem. Blocking that bottom end forces the upper areas of each of those lanes to merge into a single laneway prior to reaching the bottom exit row. I realise there is a need to have heavy equipment and machinery close by the construction zone, but perhaps (and especially since WWW is closed) they could have put it near HydroCoaster, minimising the dry park disruption while still being close to the construction zone.
  • Further to that - getting out of the park at the end of the day is a shambles. The roundabout frequently backs up with people trying to enter the M1 southbound and people queue across the roundabout preventing people who are trying to get northbound from exiting the parkway. given the road feeds the M1 i'm assuming the roundabout is probably not a local issue but a state\federal one but it's a really sour ending to a fun day and I hope Dreamworld are talking to relevant authorities about options to rectify this.
