QLD VIP Pass

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen the new pass being offered on myfun.com.au? It's a QLD VIP Pass (basically another version of the Q150 but this time you get unlimited entry to Sea World, Movie World and Wet'n'Wild (excluding events outside normal park hours...halloween etc) until the 30th June 2010 for only $99.95! It's valid for QLD and Northern NSW residents and is available until the 20th of September. I'd definitely get one if I didn't get in for free :)

wow... amazing. The Q150 must have been a big success for WVTP then. My annual pass expires end of August. There's no point renewing it while this offer is available for 99 bucks... unless they offer annual passes cheaper.

WTH! man.....I got ripped... Literally on the day the Q150 pass launched in April this year, I was at the gate with 2 3 park passes to renew...I was told of the Q150 offer...and did some quick calculations to discover that once you take into account losing the upgrade renewal discount...renewing the passes was fractionally better value. So I went ahead and forked out my $250ish * 2...and now THIS! This is a fantastically cheap deal....what happen to the "once in a lifetime offer" that was the q150....once my ass..this is better than that was! I wouldn't be quite so annoyed if it wasn't for the fact that they have continually been removing more and more value from the season passes such as changing the 50% off tickets during the month of your birthday to 25%, the reduction of the renewal discount....and now they want to give every man and his dog a 3 park pass for $100...what is going to happen when my pass expires early next year...oh..that'll be another $250 thanks... Sigh...not sure what to do now...I think I'll be lodging my displeasure with the parks...I'm just not seeing the value any more...especially with the increase in patronage the parks will see from this and the generally poor operation of rides lately. I could be putting my $500 towards flights to Japan to enjoy some more time at Disneysea. Jay

I hope they do go to proper cards...WVTP tickets have a nasty habit of fading (I remember getting a super pass once, and it didn't last the length of my holiday)

Gee they really don't mind giving away the gate do they.
Agreed, I think it is a mistake to go offering it to all the parks though, but it's fairly common place overseas, and I guess we are just accustomed to paying quite high prices to visit our parks.... I think instead of being messy and doing all these random offers and giving tickets away to all parks, they need to just follow what they do in the US, and have different passes available, eg. Cheapest: For locals only, with blackout dates and no discounts. Intermediate: Same as what is on offer now, with improved discounts...Perhaps a little bit cheaper than a current annual pass. Best: Slightly more expensive than a current annual pass, but with admission to all special events, further in park discounts, and perhaps even morning ERT on a selected attraction (Which rotates throughout the year)

It is a proper plastic pass, and you have to fill out/sign the annual pass agreement. You present the paper ticket to go through the turnstiles and then go to Guest Services for the photo/agreement. I was'nt asked for residential proof, and the guy at the turnstiles was confused by the ticket as he thought it was a Q150 and was telling me off for it not having a photo

Confusing, since the Q150 expired on 30 jun, and MyFun didn't start plugging the offer for the VIP pass until july 1st, so the guy on the gate either didn't know what date it was, or he was slightly handicapped...

Due to the success of the Queensland VIP Pass, the sale period has been extended and the Christmas block-out period has been lifted. This means QLD VIP passes will be on sale throughout summer and pass holders will now be able to visit Sea World, Warner Bros. Movie World and Wet'n'Wild Water World unlimited throughout the summer holidays, so don't miss out on this revolutionary offer...For your ticket to FUN join or login to MyFun and buy your QLD VIP PASS now!
Success of QLD VIP = introduction of 99 World Pass Even more interesting is that i don't think many people were worried about the block out period at all (well at least until they turned up to the turnstiles to find their card wouldn't let them in). I hope WVTP knows what they are doing! Edited by tolly1804

Agreed, but I don't think letting people come in for those weeks will make much difference. People will still figure that if they can come in whenever they want, it'd be sill to come when there's enormous lines. If they do come it'll only be in the afternoon for the movies.

So I was going to come online and ask what the go is with the channel 7 "whats the password?" VIP pass promo. Then I found the info, and thought it was only for those who were buying new vip passes. Then i realised I was wrong, and was going to post here that if you go to www.myfun.com.au/seven, click "buy now" and you can get access to the special discounts they are offering channel 7 viewers. Then I decided it was easier for everyone if I just posted them on here. For most of us, it probably isn't a big deal, except for the food upgrades and such - but hey - so long as WVTP is in a discounting mood, let's get the word out? ;)

I know who is going to care about the blockout dates... staff and christmas paying customers! The park will be packed and I don't think it's fair that full price paying guests are subjected to larger crowds because of the pass. I liked the VIP pass concept but I think now it's just gone for the money hungry approach.

Its the same coupons that myfun members have access to on the website, except in one easy to use pdf. I image that there will be a few upset current vip members, asking where their coupons are... I visited Wet n Wild today and a lot of the people there were VIP holders, a lot wernt happy that they had to line up lol. I joined the line at the end of the carpark (almost in the AOS carpark)
