The first funeral will be held today, with 2 more this weekend and the final one on Monday.

DW CEO has announced that out of respect for the families, there is a media blackout and no further media calls/press releases/interviews will occur until after the funerals next week.

How do you know when the funerals are being held?

Sydney mother-of-two Cindy Low, 42, will be the first of the victims to be farewelled today. She died alongside Canberra woman Kate Goodchild, 32, Ms Goodchild’s brother Luke Dorsett, 35, and his partner Roozi Araghi, 38.

Ahead of her funeral today on the NSW central coast, Ms Low’s family said they were struggling to come to terms with their loss.

A joint funeral for Ms Goodchild and Mr Dorsett will be held on Monday in Canberra.

It is understood Mr Araghi’s funeral will be held at the weekend.

All victims from the accident on the rapids ride have now been all laid to rest. Today was the final funeral and was for Ms Goodchild and Mr Dorsett.

I saw it in the news app on my iPhone. The media can't just let them have the privacy they asked for. This whole situation is just sad

Police have today completed their analysis of the scene at Dreamworld following the deaths of four people on a ride at the Coomera theme park last month.

The site has now been handed back to Dreamworld.

From the Australian Financial Review:

Quote

Ardent Leisure is expected to make an announcement on Wednesday about when its Dreamworld theme park will reopen...

But Dreamworld chief executive Craig Davidson is expected to err on the side of caution...

A spokeswoman for Ardent Leisure said no decision had been made yet on when Dreamworld would reopen, but a statement is expected on Wednesday.

Ardent is expected to have a capped $100 million insurance liability exposure as per the industry standard. But it remains unclear whether the company has an industrial special risks policy to deal with the costs of a protracted business interruption.

Also, from The Australian:

Dreamworld is planning a staged reopening of its theme park...

The ride is now set to be demolished, with Dreamworld tomorrow detailing a planned schedule for a reopening.

It is expected that WhiteWater World, attached to the theme park, will reopen this weekend, with Dreamworld having a staged reopening as early as next week.

The opening will be dependent on an ongoing safety audit by Queensland Workplace Health and Safety officials of each of the rides.

“Our audit of all other amusement rides at Dreamworld is continuing,’’ Workplace Health and Safety said in a statement. “The operation of the rides will depend on the audit findings.”

I believe this article is mostly speculation except the last 2 paragraphs & the fact DW expects to release a statement to the media on Wednesday. The ride they are referring to in the 2nd paragraph is Thunder River Rapids.

will be sad to see the thunder river rapids and eureka mountain mine ride + the chair lift stations come down all the same

another big part of dreamworlds history will be missed

But they haven't said at this stage about removing the Eureka and chairlift station. I was told by a friend who used to work at the park, and she said that the Eureka Mountain has been tested in the past and does have asbestos, and they did at one stage look into removing the whole mountain, but after consulting with specialists, they said that the whole park would need to be closed for a couple of days while they removed it. And then the surrounding areas of the mountain would be inaccessible for some time while they removed the rest of the mountain. Hence why it has never been removed.

the main reason it was not removed was becouse the thunder river rapids ride is under it

i don't see them knocking down the rapids and leaveing eureka asbestos or not

and the chair lift station will go becouse they will be removeing the whole of gold rush other then buzzsaw

Unless Dreamworld themselves state that the river rapids and remainder of Gold Rush Country is going to be demolished how can we say its going to happen.

Until Dreamworld confirm about that we have no ground to stand on, it would be the same as saying the river rapids are going to re-open.

24hrs ago Dreamworld quite possibility wouldn't of had a clue when the park was going to re-open little own the future of Gold Rush Country and the River Rapids.

The thunder river rapids will not reopen

The thunder river rapids and eureka mountain mine ride  are part of the same structure so you have to remove both

They and the chair lift station form what is gold rush country 2 of the 3 rides have been sbno for 10 years

Its simple to say that they will all be removed if the thunder river rapids does not reopen

No, Buzzsaw is definitely part of Gold Rush country, it counts.

Thats why they added a big saw to the Gold Rush sign.

Its part of gold rush yes but can remain and be rethemed to what ever rides - attractions that may replace the other 3 rides - gold rush theme

That said im thinking any new attractions - rides are long off

As dreamworld works on rebuilding its brand and trust

Is that personal speculation/opinion, or fact? I haven't read anything official stating that the ride will not reopen, and anything published by the media doesn't count.

Yes, I realise there is a big possibility that it won't, but then again, I'm sure a lot of people didn't expect to Mindbender or the Smiler to reopen after their serious accidents, either.

I honestly think the cause of the incident will be a big factor in the ride's fate, and that is yet to be revealed. We are best waiting for now, before coming to any major conclusions.

@JeffreyMoore I posted this earlier in another forum but I think is suitable for this form.

Keep in mind theme parks plan years in advanced. (5-10 year plans) MW might already be planning their next roller coaster for let's say 6 years in the future. Most likely 2017 and 2018 plans would have been finalised and contracts signed. Remember ride manufacturers want a deposit at least a year + before the ride opens. So if the rumours of a new slide tower at WWW or other changes at DW were planned for next year than they would have been signed and already had deposits paid for. Meaning it's to late to back out without losing a MAJOR deposit. Keep in mind AW paid their deposit and signed the contract for MI3 in September a year in advanced of the ride opening. MW new roller coaster would have been signed of maybe 1-2 years ago.

Its personal speculation for now

Im sure once the course of the accident is known dreamworld will be given a plan of what is needed to be done to bring the ride upto date and stop this or any other incidents happening again

Im sure it will lead to big $$$ needing to be spent witch is why i feel a decision to not reopen the ride likely

As much as i dont wont to lose the ride

It would also be the right decision in respect of KATE - LUKE - ROOZBEH & CINDY

just my feeling towards all this

I dont think i would ever feel 100% rideing it again just knowing these poor soles lost there lives

If anyone gets what i am feeling

Yes i agree if there are any plans signed off

But any future big plans will be far off now i feel

As in a replacement for thunder river rapids etc if the ride does not reopen

Is what i mean
