  1. Past hour
  2. potentially unpopular opinion but the standard gyro swings are so much better then the 360 ones. i’d much rather airtime over uncomfortable hang time.
  3. Today
  4. a 360 swing under power, yes, but i'd still be happy with an unpowered 360 like the looping starships any day of the week over the pendulum. you still get airtime on the drops, and that upside down hangtime is *chefs kiss* - but like my earlier comment - very polarising to half your guests...
  5. Yesterday
  6. Gazza is spot on. Airtime over loops any day of the week. You 360 these rides and you remove the best part of the ride.
  7. Also if it doesn't go upside down, it means you get airtime at the top of the swing. It's the flat ride equivalent of this versus this:
  8. I’m glad it doesn’t complete a full invert because I don’t think the park needs a ride that does that. It has Seprent Slayer and Tailspin as their inverting rides. King Claw will have enough speed and forces that inverting would probably be too much for most guests and would make the investment not worth while. I don’t know if this is currently the case, but I’m fairly sure Luna Parks model was having issues and couldn’t do the inversion for some time???
  9. I think the idea that 'it goes upside down' is quite polarising, and is where a lot of people draw the line on riding. Claw was popular enough over 20 years, this is the upgrade they needed to keep it going. I don't think it needs 360 to sell it - the sheer size comparison to Claw will be enough I think.
  10. Fair enough, I'll eat crow and admit that yeah that looks crazy big, shame it won't go 360 as that'd be another selling point about why its better than the previous claw but I guess this ride type is unable to go 360 like the one at Luna Park.
  11. in the park the ride looks massive, it’s very noticeable the size difference in person and it’s going to make one hell of a ride. i’d say they’re aiming for a September holiday opening.
  12. Last week
  13. @Cactus_Matt even with the angles not being the same, you can clearly see the ride is much taller. And no it won’t go 360 degrees.
  14. NOT to be a downer, but I don't know how those previous pictures from old Claw and new Claw give any impression of how tall this ride will be because angles bias and all that shit. Also will this "new Claw" go 360 degrees? Just asking...
  15. It soaks people and improves experience but no one’s buying a new pass or revisiting to ride the train . Different project otherwise the current builder would have been fired by now for non completion . They likely have missing items like the waterfall to finalise when ride goes under maintenance and defects but that’s all.
  16. These photos from @Theme Park Girl show how it’s being installed and what it’s connecting too
  17. I’m fairly certain that this is the new fencing to fence in the Rivertown railway section when it’s complete. If so It’s gonna look great once it’s installed and the train is running through Rivertown!
  18. The Claw to King Claw similarities stop at the drive system. King Claw's motor, attaches from the outside.
  19. I would have thought the motor would be in place before the swing arm was lifted?
  20. Now you're just talking about all the timber fencing already installed throughout RT @DaptoFunlandGuy. Pendulum going up. Can't be much longer to the motor is lifted up.
  21. ...if you want to obstruct the nice view of the land you'd get. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that...
  22. I think it's safe to put to bed that this fencing was likely intended to be the envelope fencing, and they had to change to the black fencing for compliance reasons. There's nowhere left in rivertown where all this fencing would be practical, so probably safe to say this is excess (though hopefully in the future they can use it elsewhere)
  23. But also remember down the road we’re stilling waiting on Superman Escape to have its queue/locker upgrades, an all new dining experience to open, Doomsday to be replaced, Scooby to open, for WoO to become world class and for them to sort out their electrical system so they don’t have wiring hanging above guest areas. (The last couple I added for dramatic effect, but you get my point).
  24. The last podcast Greg did with Dane Themepark Podcast I swear I remember him saying the turntable room isn't finished yet and there was still one more big piece to come, could be wrong though.
  25. JR second waterfall still not working. MM wheelchair accessible cars still to come. Train can't do loop de loops.
