Movie World Scheduled Maintenance 2024
red dragin replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
My observation Parkz and the public, have absolutely blasted Movie World about the state of the park and lack of communication. Rightly so! My question. Do we, as a 'community', feel like they've listened and are making an effort, at least on the communication side of things? - Today

Spotty replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
100% not happening. No room for it, and for the most part Superman is actually very reliable (especially for an Accelerator). This is actually the first major issue the ride has had since opening, given it's nearly 20 years old... that's a pretty damn good track record. If it aint broke, don't fix it. (But this time, please fix it Intamin!) -

Scratch that. If you watch the video they certainly do push the ride-within-a-ride statement 🙄 -
The Flash: Speed Force coming to Movie World
themagician replied to a topic in Theme Park Discussion
I thought the same thing because for weeks they’ve been teasing an opening date will be announced soon. And then suddenly at 3pm on a rainy Friday it’s officially open. All of the hype for the ride in the recent months has been really good, but they’ve ended it all a bit flat. And I’m so glad they moved on from the untrue statement of it being a ride-within-a-ride in all of their social posts. -
Kind of a shame that there wasn’t an actual opening ceremony, they’ve been fun to go to recently. Not that I think Flash warrants one, but theit constant hyping up of an ‘opening date being announced soon’ had me believing they thought it did.

They already had Intamin out for FSF a bit ago, and I don’t think it’s breaking either companies’ banks to send some engineers over again. -

Slow news day - trot out some speculative nonsense about Disney coming to Australia lol. Maybe we'll start seeing this at Australian parks: -

But if you increased the height of the top hat, all other elements would be taken too fast. -

That appeared online a few years ago, but the rumour I heard was the top hat height was being increased and it was changing to LSMs. I think TPSN was where I first saw it, but it was indeed false -
This was basically confirmed by the park to not be true. I was informed a while back that the Indrivetec LSM Stators that INTAMIN uses are capable to launch the train to 0-100 (allegedly 100kmh doesn't feel like it anymore) from a rolling start aka the train wouldn't stop at the launch for the countdown. But this replacement of the launch would create a lot of other issues for the ride. A - There just isnt enough space at all to fit a spike let alone the whole switch track mechanism. B - Clearance issues for the ride, the ride swoops through the building multiple times. A new launch system would result in new trains and these coaster trains are no longer made to be as low to the track as possible and now feature exposed seating. Even TT2 by Zampera has this new raised seating by setup similar to DC Rivals HyperCoaster. The other thing that I'm interested in is if they're getting INTAMIN out to also inspect and try to help them with Doomsday Destroyer and maybe something for FSF... seems like a long trip for one ride. Basically, I could see this coming like this coming to the ride once WoZ & Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster open.
-
I'm not sure that would work without changing the dark section significantly, also I don't think a spike would fit inside the building. It would also damage the story, it wouldn't make sense for Superman to go backwards into the subway and up then back through the Subway,

Heard a rumour floating around that MW were possibly thinking of getting rid of the hydraulic launch and replacing with lsm. They also mentioned that if that is the case there is a possibility they might get a spike similar to too thrill dragster. so basically just before the launch there is a section of switch track and the spike sticks out the top of the Dark section. id be more then happy for this if true. -

Baconjack replied to Chalky's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I read this article the other day it’s complete dribble from whatever hack journo at the herald sun that wrote this. Basically if you boil it down it’s essentially “Disney are spending tens of billions on parks” and “There’s lots of land in Werribee for a park”. Just flat out nonsense. A castle park is never going to happen here. You also gotta remember that Shanghai is getting a stage 2, Disneyland is getting that massive expansion, Studios Paris is getting the frozen expansion (with potentially Star Wars being back on the table), Dinoland USA at animal kingdom is getting a retheme, Epcot is getting massive renovations, among many other projects across the existing parks. -

100%! I still think about the time Lord Mayor Sally Cap said last year: " I'd love to see a splash mountain coming down from the Bolte bridge into the docklands Yarra river" lol So delusional of her.... I do hope Disney get some kind of park presence here or experience... But I don't see it happening anytime soon.... Also not in the state of Victoria.... Definitely not supported by the Victoria government, they are broke! -
