Australia has much higher safety standards than America. Geeze there are Parks in America where I've seen several ride opens literally stand on a restraint to squash a fat idiot in there.4 points

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WWF NEEDS. I think at the bottom have a few TNT spark strips following you up, and then when the guy says 'What you all still doing here, get out, get get get get get out', that's when there are tonnes coming. The turntable should have TNT props all over the floor and walls, and then just before you drop there is smoke and an explosion sound.3 points

Awesome update @Jobe! Can't wait to ride the new Tango Train and see how it is.2 points

I popped in this arvo too, first thing I noticed was the cool bent steel effect going up around the back of the control booth of DD....1 point

Here is the ad for the ride when it first opened and it shows the smoke and sparks effect:1 point

I honestly agree, it's a bit like those rich dumbasses that lived a metre from the Collaroy beachfront in huge expensive houses that are now marked for demolition after a major storm- surely they should have been well aware of the risk that their pool in a storm might fucking fall off the house before buying the huge expensive house? Same thing applies, but the people complaining about the noise are stupid enough to buy an expensive apartment near a theme park that operates at night in the first place.1 point

I've been raving about WWF's final scene on here for at least the last 13 years, as Richard's post shows. It clearly made an impression on me.1 point

I managed to duck into LPS today for a quick look around and to see the progress of the new ride. I can now confirm that they have replace The Tango Train with........ANOTHER Tango Train!! Apologies for the quality, they are off my phone and the pics were taken into the sun, plus LPS was not open today so this was the closest I could get! From what I could tell, and given that we already know that the ride is from an Italian manufacturer, it looks remarkably similar to this unit from SBF rides. It certainly is a good looking unit but I certainly cannot help but feel a little short changed as I think we were all expecting a new ride. However, the ride is certainly a permanent fixture and would explain why the area needed no preparation. I also managed to get some pics of the green area above the carpark entrance which I thnk would make an excellent area for LPS kids rides all located in one place. This then would allow a greater use of Maloney's Corner for larger thrill and family rides and allowing greater flexibility with its use. A simple pram friendly ramp from the below Midway could see this part of the park far better utilised. And finally to complete my small update there is unfortunately nothing going on with the former Flying Saucer site as yet......1 point

And I didn't realise how much the mountain had faded, but here is a comparison between 2004 and 2014:1 point

The final scene of WWF used to be brilliant. The boat headed straight towards a giant expanding explosives barrel, then turned towards the doors. The barrel would go off with a big explosion sound effect (I think this remains), accompanied by smoke and a strong gust of wind which created the effect of pushing the boat out of the doors. It was so effective. Tragic that it was lost and not replaced.1 point

Lol. And the reason the main reason there are people complaining about the paths is because of the unavailability of the monorail. Especially now that the Skyway is extinct. No choice but to walk everywhere (and get lost in the process)1 point

It's certainly got its uses. In an Architectural setting you can do 360 renderings and show them to decision makers who can get a real sense of being inside what you are proposing.1 point

I don't think it would be hard to add some sort of cohesive backing story. You board a cruise through the Wild West before some outlaws hijack your boat, and send you on a trip through the "real" wild west, filled with outlaws, abandoned mines, and ghost towns. Simple enough, but it would add some sense without having to change all that much of the ride.1 point

He's right. I'll never forget the first time I played Dactyl Nightmare at Grundy's back in the 90's! I'll just leave these here...1 point

found out late last night that there's someone close to our family who is working on the ride and the arena as he's part of building industry, he has said it's going to be amazing once it's finished, I will try and see if they can get a photo inside the construction site and some closeup photos of the ride1 point

I always compare new attractions by the ones they replace - my belief is whatever's new should entertain better in some fashion or another to deserve being put there in the first place. Take Gremlins & Scooby as a perfect example of this - Gremlins was a great attraction and while I was sad to see that go Scooby Doo is an infinitely better attraction. With that in mind, after the fire in the boiler room it never has quite been the same. And I get it, rides get older, things break, simple fixes are applied, no problem, but after a while rides experience a death by a thousand cuts and they lose their lustre (think Wipeout). I'd love to see Wild West Falls return its former glory, and even given some modern love and ingenuity. To be fair, the ride's nearly two decades old, it's ripe for it to be given a new leah on life, and for Movie World's annual members a new reason to come back and check out what's new. I'd love to see the Holograms get a freshen up and the audio cleared up, too. They could have lighting cues inside the native american huts so that they light up as you go past. And naturally, to see the boiler room return back to its former glory would be awesome. What does everyone else think?1 point

Yeah, and a Superman Escape one this morning as well. Three in one bloody day, hahaha. I think I had better go into hiding before the hate mail begins from everyone sick of seeing my user tag ???1 point

..and thats just it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I guess this way, we have a way to express our displeasure with someone's comment without derailing a thread. I don't really care about the reputation rating itself, so if you really feel you have to, go ahead. I think it's a good way to highlight posts that have popular info, and i'd hate for Richard to disable it because of abuse. That said, if I say something that you believe deserves a downvote - please do. I know my opinion isn't popular with everyone. I'm ok with that. See you on the other hand I know you would if i challenged you to do it. You have way too much time at work. Finally, i blame this all on @Theme Park Girl for her unintentional derailing of the thread. If a mod gets around to moving, perhaps this can move into the positive reputation game, or be deleted... either way.1 point

wwf prob won't exist soon i can just see them turning it into another DC ride. you know it's going to happen!-2 points

they don't need to. just need a new paint job on the mountain to turn it into a joker cave. than replace the wild west town with a cityscape, leave the bridge and railway (might need new paint job theme) since J is always blowing stuff up anyway. Replace the Indian village with...something else (feel free to pitch ideas!) change the video on the tv at the top with a speech by mr J than finally re-theme the cars to a bat boat = PROFIT!-2 points

yeah i really LOVE DC world what's left in that kids area now just the RR coaster and that mini drop thing? that's just sad...-2 points

don't worry the whole area will be closed soon and re-themed to make way for more super hero rides-4 points
