  2. Getting yourself decapitated is no way to get ahead in life.

  3. Thanks for bringing us all such a detailed update on LP Melbourne @Jobe. Hopefully we will see LP Melbourne move ahead with plans in both maintaining their existing gems along with introducing some decent new ones soon. Oh and I thought it was worth re-posting this in attempt to block out a certain feeble response.

  4. But if he came crying to you post decapitation, surely that would at least get your attention?

  5. New rides will suffer technical dramas. Simple. You cannot test a new ride and simulate all the operational issues that might exist. As frustrating as it is you need to just need to chill out. Imagine how the ride crews would feel.

  6. Exactly. And it is a very Technical ride with motion, sound, fx, projection etc all needing to sync up. The more complex rides tend to have more teething problems and problems that only tend to show up after frequent and continual operation. Disney does this with their rides for a good 3-6 months before opening and apparently that is the reason why Rise of the Resistance has been pushed back so much.

  7. As already mentioned, just because it was sat there for 9 months doesn’t mean it went under testing all day everyday. No matter how long a ride sits there after it’s completion, there will always be technical issues for the first few months after it opens

  9. As much as keeping the old rides is great for nostalgia reasons at the same time parts become harder to get. Given the fact some rides have modifications over time also starts to change how they can be viewed during inspections etc. I've seen this with LPS. Enterprise rides are great but the central arm does undergo a massive amount of stress that can cause cracks. especially when near the ocean where corrosion can be worse. Seen that occur once.

  10. As long as they keep their Huss Enterprise I’ll be happy 🙂

  11. @pushbutton can you please leave the shaded seating area joke alone. We get it. It’s just not funny anymore. Thanks

  12. Just a small update for Luna Park Melbourne. The Zamperla powered family coaster, Silly Serpent has been retired from the park for good. It has been replaced on its site by the SBF Visa family coaster Speedy Beetle. This was originally located on the old Metropolis coaster site since its introduction to the park late last year. It was discussed at the time whether the Speedy Beetle was intended to be the Silly Serpent's eventual successor, given its age. The park has intimated that their will be announcements soon on new rides that will be coming to the park. Fingers crossed that they finally get a decent second coaster to replace the old Metropolis. There is a good amount of space to work with here and they could certainly fit in any number of smaller compact coasters- think Gerstlauer , Maurer , S & S or Zamperla. Above is an older aerial pic of the park with the Metropolis still in place- ( a Pinfari model Zyklon) This area is a substantial bit of LPM's real estate and its high time that the park invested in a ride to fill this space and maximise its full potential. Of course this should only be the start of some targeted , real investment into the park, which , has been sorely lacking for quite a while. Of course the heritage rides such as the Scenic Railway, the Ghost Train and the Carousel are all expensive attractions to maintain ( and SHOULD be retained) but there are many filler attractions that need replacing. With LPS now having the roadblocks removed for their own $20 million dollar ride investment, its time that Lindsey Fox, as the owner of LPM, lives up to his promise to restore the park to its former glory, when he stated when he purchased the park in 2005.

  14. If you get decapitated, it's your own fault. Don't come crying to me about it.

  15. Until you have a regular, public load cycling through from open to close daily, you can't predict some issues. The test runs prior to opening won't have loaded the equipment to the same level for the same period of time - so it is still a 'brand new ride opening'. It's not like there were dozens of test riders cycling the ride daily for the past 8 months...

  16. Personally, I think it's the dumbest coaster render i've ever seen. It looks like something a kid would make in Roller Coaster Tycoon. However, I do believe it's just indicative and won't actually look anything like in the render.

  17. Hey guys...this is GeorgeT from Germany again...I took part in the discussion when DC Rivals was being build. You know what? I am a little surprised that there are so little positive let alone raving reactions about the spinning car. As a regular visitor of Europa Park even after hundreds of rides on Blue Fire I still enjoy that coaster a lot. Even without a spinning feature. And yes, I know that it`s not everybodys cup of tea when a coaster car is spinning...but I really do think that riding Blue Fire in a spinning car will be one of the best coaster experinces on the planet for those who`re not getting too dizzy from it. I can`t even describe how jealous I am that you are getting that feature while our Blue Fire version stays normal...so, can I see some more excitement please? 😀

  18. Would be very poor management given how long they had to do that before it opened, and also given that it's only been open a few days (yet now guests once again can't use it! Also, filming inside can very easily be done before / after park trading hours. I really hope it's not closed for filming!

  19. Hmm. Twice in 2 days on a brand new ride, opened 9 months after construction. What's going on?

  23. and that folks, is why some people still believe in God!

  24. Indeed it's not. The fact we came up with several interpretations proves that. Unless it's Ardents new way to avoid future "ambitious" annoucements (by just not actually announcing anything and being very ambiguous instead)! Had they had this policy a year ago, the announcement that "Sky Voyager will open on Boxing Day" might have been something like "You can't watch a Dreamworks cartoon in the cinema, but your time to fly may be festive"
