  5. I’d say the area will be cleared and then a survey completed so that they can begin to figure out what sort of attraction could go there, costs, site works, etc

  6. Matrix, Mad Max, Animal Logic as a whole (Australian based CGI/animation company, famous for Lego, Legend of the Guardians, Happy Feet), Where the Wild things are, Narnia, San Andreas, Kong V Godzilla (dueling coaster anyone?) Aside from that you could theme to a genre, for example a horror themed area with attractions to House of Wax, The Reaping, or sci-fi movies like Interstella, Contact, Ready Player one, Gravity, or Australian movies like Crocodile Dundee, Red Dog (there's a good animal show in both of these), or do something completely left feild like Sherlock. Also if you could get rights to Tolkien stuff you could do something really special. Of course if you didn't want to do that you could just put a gyro swing in and call it Wonder Woman. Quick Edit to add; you could do Mad Max as an AA replacement, personally I think when you give up on Doomsday completely in a couple years, put a new flat ride there and turn Villans land into a Mad Max mini land instead.

  7. They dont have the budget though. Its kind of a once in a life time spend to turn around a bad situation and massive decline in numbers following the dreamworld accident. It doesnt make any financial sense at all to spend 100 million dollars when you are 200 million in debt. But the situation required immediate action to bring people back to the parks quicker as they couldnt sustain a 5 year recovery period. The reduction in turnover and cash flow was worse for business than taking on a massive amount of debt. So they took the lesser of two evils. Have to remember, pre covid, village were only talking combined attendance numbers across all their parks of under 6 million. You realise how small those numbers are when you remember that a great deal of northern hemisphere parks are seasonal too and achieve their attendance figures while being closed through winter. Compare them to something like the six flags group who normally see over 26 million a year total attendance. Vastly different operating budgets even when you account for different admission prices.

  8. Going off the animated POV and stats, I don't think Big Dipper will be comparable in terms of pacing and intensity. It's slower and has less whip to its elements. Not necessarily a bad thing either; I think LPS are aiming for a ride that's strong enough to satiate enthusiasts yet still appeases the GP. Although Raptor-like madness would be amazing, it mightn't be the right fit. Hot Racers seem to target a different market; that's a good thing, and Big Dipper's layout looks strong nonetheless.

  10. Here's a few pics from Roadrunner. Noticed a big box from Vekoma with some interesting info... some work was being done on the lift hill, too. It often gets queue times wrong. Once it had WWF at 40 mins all day when it was actually walk on... anyhow, both Doomsday and Superman were completely closed today. Doomsday in particular had at least 5 maintenance workers on it... seems like they're really trying to get it open quickly.

  11. Obviously you've never worked in a theme park. Guests routinely check their brains at the door. Announcements and hi-vis signage aren't going to save them.

  14. We finnaly have a date for the opening of the SX360. The ride will be launching June 18th 2021. The Ballroom Blitz is also expected to reopen at around the same time. According to the park, the Blitz undertook a major reconstruction overhaul which took longer than expected. Make of that what you will. The new spinning coaster, The Rat, whilst completed, is expected to open in the last quarter of the year. Given Aussie World's issues and longevity with opening the SX360, I won't be holding my breath. Still its good to finally see some progress happening on this attraction- Aussie World is a fine litttle park and when the new attractions are all open, it will be a great family day out.

  15. Hi everyone! This is another update to the construction. Testing has begun for Boomerang! They're using these water jug dummy's as passengers. They made this undercover area where the ride operator shall be.T The top of Loopy Lighthouse has been removed. With the seats put in. SS 01 has been put with the rest of Silly Sub. It works basically as a mini Body Rock. Sledgehammer has had it's seats put in. Same with the Gyro Swing. Big Dippers support beams are now being delivered to begin construction on the ride. The top part of Cloud 9 is being put in. And more demountables are being put in. You can see these buildings as apart of the concept art. Next update will be whenever I get there!

  17. I am definitely excited for this event. It will be great to see all these characters back in the park, even some that refer back to classic attractions. Bringing back something like Marvin the Martian 3D is awesome and I look forward to seeing what they do in the WB Studio Showcase. It’s fantastic to see WNW get a new attraction after almost 10 years. The park really needs it and there is definitely a good variety of slides in there. It will really bring life back to this corner of the park. And while it’s not quite a full hydro coaster, it’s awesome they are finally getting some form of one. I have also heard there will be new bathrooms and food options added back here as well. Bikash did say we would be getting an announcement in May and there would be another to follow this year. Maybe that could potentially be a new attraction for the MW And while it could be seen as the other forgotten park, it’s great that they are still investing in Paradise Country and meerkats are a great addition

  22. I feel like it wouldn’t be overly difficult for VRTP to gain permission to build a cable car system from Westfield Helensvale across the motorway and along Entertainment Rd, stopping at Wet n Wild then Movieworld. It would mean less buses, which I’m sure GCCC would be keen for to try to bring traffic down where they can. It also gives hotel guests connections to public transport and a shopping centre.
