Here’s a look at what’s left in the car park Anyone know what this part is for? Station update Do you think they’ll build a retaining wall along here for the train track? Because I’d imagine they would have removed it if they weren’t going to use it Track updates5 points

I made and translated to French this interview during IAAPA Expo Asia 20 with MM. Czibulka and Daniel. They prove reponsive to interview questions - and take the time to share insightful answers. Thanks for sharing it! Another interview with Intamin is expected sometime later this year. If Parkz's admins are ok with it, I'd be happy to forward your questions about Big Dipper to the manufacturer and share their comments (without the hassle of translating to French then back to English!) here. Regarding the tyre launch, riding Yukon Quad at Le Pal in central France also makes me confident the acceleration will be satisfying. The second launch in particular should be quite exciting. Having ridden Taron, Hyperion, Steel Dolphin and Soaring with Dragon, I agree with Intamin's claim their open restraint offers a competitive edge on RMC's Single Rail model. Though I'm yet to ride a Raptor track, I feel the seating & lap-bar design on I-Box trains of both generations is among the US manufacturer's weakest points (rode Wicked Cyclone, Twisted Colossus, Steel Vengeance, Zadra and Untamed for reference). Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but Intamin market their Hot Racer (aka Single Rail) model in a wide range going from "1 - Family" to "3 - Thrill" in their portfolio. (For comparison, the LSM launch, Mega and Giga coasters are marketed in the "3 - Thrill" to "4 - Insane" range - while Wing and Wooden coasters are put in a "2 - Family Thrill" to "3 - Thrill" range.) It seems Intamin indicate their single rail's will offer a relatively less extreme ride experience than the current RMC Raptors. I wonder if that choice came from market demand, or purposeful differentiation from the competition.4 points

They are on the phone with Zamperla staff in Italy programming the ride, it did eventually go 360° and I’ll send out that video tonight, Bug, Freaky Frogs and cloud 9 were also testing along with a talk from the rides manager Silly Sub and Loopy Lighthouse were testing on Saturday, Loopy Lighthouse has 3 modes so there is a different experience, Silly sub is pretty cool and the little propeller on the bottom spins as the ride operates3 points

Quick update on the rides today Around 2:00-2:40pm today I saw some members of maintenance under the transfer track of GL working on what I think was a dismembered wheel bogey. DC Rivals 2nd train is still sitting in SE's maintenance room and SD was stacking trains on the final turn to the unload station.1 point

Solar inverters need 240v supply to work. Thats why when power goes out, the inverter switches off and nobody is at risk of you feeding the grid. Only way around this is battery system which has an automatic changeover switch that disconnects the house from mains when failure happens, or by using a generator (which also should be wired using a changeover switch, not just plugged into a power outlet and backfeeding the distribution box for the house). If you had power, you either still had mains supply and didnt lose power, or you have a big problem somewhere and you need an eletrician to check it out before you kill someone.1 point

During the upcoming winter school holidays Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s the park will not be open, Could this be for the Construction of Big Dipper or being understaffed because i have never seen this in a school holiday period before1 point

Haha yes! I found that out a bit ago, from others making youtube videos, actually has the same max speed as MDMC (72km/h)! Not a bad launch in my opinion, definitely something that will be achieved quickly, as the launch tracks and the entire coaster are quite compact. I expect a great acceleration! Especially since Formula Rossa’s acceleration is 1.7gs of force, which is surprisingly only around double for what this model is capable of! Being on FR myself, I can definitely say even a quarter of that acceleration is enough! For a coaster going 240+km/h having only double the Gs of force on acceleration of this single rail coaster going less than a third of it’s speed, I agree with intamin. It’s impressive and powerful!1 point

Nice find! Looks like the Big Dipper will use a tire propulsion launch system (rather than an LSM launch). Similar to Jet Rescue & MDMC. Notice the large slots in the launch track ready for the tires to be installed.1 point

Demolition is happening within the Trolls Village Its good to see the river again Vintage Cars now takes photos They have replaced a fence along the train line, it’s a shame they don’t continue this further instead of using pool fencing1 point

Just found a translated version of a French interview with peeps from Intamin, It was from last year, but offers the specs of the Big Dipper I haven’t seen before! Idk if this had been shared here before? But I found it on Reddit. Apparently will have a height of around 24m and track length of 600m which is interesting. They did change the speed to 72km/hr, so obviously these stats might change, but they give a fairly good insight on what the Hot Racer is all about. Here’s the original article, very good read! https://amp.reddit.com/r/rollercoasters/comments/in32zb/interview_with_intamin_in_french_regarding_the/1 point

Won’t they reuse the original Big Dipper entrance? The building that used to be the entrance to the Tumble Bug and actually says “Big Dipper” Lmao As shown in previous designs, we can clearly see a building at the top of the original staircase, with the track going in and out of the smaller building (boarding area).1 point

Just at Luna Park now, noticed they are adding the lift cables onto Loopy Lighthouse, so we might see the carriage and top being placed back on soon if all goes well.1 point

Hello everyone and this is another update to the construction! There is exactly 1 month to the opening of LPS! Things are slowing down construction wise. While operations wise it's springing to life! Safety fencing is being put around Sledgehammer. The first pieces of track for the Big Dipper, including the first launch track is now assembled! The construction of the coaster will continue till December as apart of Stage 2. I've heard about the employment crisis at LPS. I'd love to sign up to give more of a helping hand✋! Even though that I'm an honuary Team Member. That doesn't count as being Employed. Otherwise, Open Heath and Safety would shut LPS down like that! But I'll be able to in December! Pretend it's a promotion... I can only do the Boomerang at this time @Kevin. Next update will be whenever I get there!1 point

Looks like the slides will include: A red orbiter https://www.whitewaterwest.com/en/products/water-slides/icons/orbiter/ Manta with Constrictor elements https://www.whitewaterwest.com/en/products/water-slides/icons/manta/ Mat Blaster https://www.whitewaterwest.com/en/products/water-slides/competition/mat-blaster/ A couple of body slides and the play structure too. Looks good, but when you get down to it, it's about the same size as Gumbuyas water park in the first stage, surf pool excluded.1 point
