  1. So both Chessington and Legoland Germany are getting family versions of the B&M wing coaster They already make family inverted coasters so i guess a gentle wing coaster is a natural progression. https://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/product/family-coaster Wouldn't mind seeing one of them here as a unique family ride.

  2. no one is saying this. everyone is saying once the park has added more family and a water ride THEN the next big coaster should be ___, no one’s saying their next investment should be a coaster. some non-enthusiast guests don’t like going upside down and find it too intimidating, so when looking at it with a non enthusiast perspective, having a big coaster that doesn’t go upside down alongside a coaster which focuses on going upside down is the perfect fit. They would be different enough for it to be a worth-while investment and have something for everyone. ST= intense, inversion focused, launched. new coaster= balance of graceful and intense, airtime focused, traditional chairlift. The best investment after the family and water additions is a less intense airtime focused coaster, not another coaster which focuses on being intense and going upside down.

  3. You’re putting a new coaster at Dreamworld ahead of a new water or dark ride? For mine that’s where their attention needs to be focused. A new flume ride , family driven is absolutely essential and the first thing that should be added back to the park. Then they should look to a state of the art future dark ride to really round out their attraction selection. Once these are added in , only then would I even consider looking at a new thrill coaster. What that looks like is definitely open to debate but a grounds up RMC, any one of the new generation Vekoma’s would certainly fit the bill.

  4. I don’t believe it is “available” during the markets. They usually put some of those bollards with ropes out around it at that time. That parents fail to supervise and allow their children to go beyond the rope line is the issue. I haven’t been back to the markets since this furore started so not sure if they have introduced something that harder to transverse but aside from wheeling out temp fencing every Friday & Saturday night they need to rely on parents to do the right thing.

  5. It is true that future lab was put 'on hold' prior to covid. That is a FACT. The project was placed on hold, and the money was also placed on hold. Covid just took the plans from 'not right now' to 'not happening in the foreseeable future' That doesn't mean that the statements made in the article are false.

  6. Nah, I'm pretty sure it's actually a giga S&S Axis coaster in ABC Kids World themed to the Big Red Plane.

  8. oh god I feel like i've gone back in time ten years. Both park chains blew their wad on a large scale Mack. Both park chains needed financial help to get them built Nobody is building a B&M here anytime soon Building another hyper is not a smart move - the GC needs more coaster diversity For mine, i'd love to see a flyer as Tatsu is still near the top of my list and we have nothing like it. Dreamworld can ride on ST for several years while they fill out the roster so any suggestion of a big thrill coaster is pure folly.

  9. Thanks for noticing! As always, we welcome any feedback on here or in private. 😀 We aren’t here to replace anything or take over the world, just excited to have a few likeminded mates around for a laugh every month or so.

  10. I don’t think they should be aiming for a maintenance nightmare that’s rarely open, they just got rid of one of those…

  11. From my previous experience working at Movie World. Weekday attendance was approx 3000 a day, weekends 4000 - 5000. School holidays were around 8000-12000. The park would close the gates at 16,000 which was the full capacity. General rule of thumb was if the park is expecting more than 10,000 they would add the 3rd HSD show (11am, 12:15 and 1:30pm) and for a crazy peak day they would add a 4th show at 4:15pm. This was back around 2013, so not sure what the current park capacity is. But they have certainly shut the gates a few times in the past. I remember being stuck operating batwing till 7:15pm when the park closed at 5:30pm... most boring ride in the park to operate IMO

  12. Not much of a Future Lab if the project was dependent on a key stakeholder and that stakeholder left. And if the dissolution of Corroboree is anything to go you could safely assume Dreamworld wasn't planning on going down the Future Lab route without that key stakeholder. Because drinking the kool-aid rots your teeth.

  13. Dreamworld would be suit a B&M the most out of the gc parks, they have no airtime and need another major coaster along with ST, once the kids and family additions are done a Raptor or Hyper would be the best fits.

  14. On a serious note, a B&M (or Intamin) hyper would be a great fit.

  16. I wouldn't have mentioned it, but Future Labs was dead long before covid. So no, them lying about it here and blaming covid doesn't put the critisim to bed.

  17. If you read the comment as a whole: i.e. Weekly attendance 20 years ago was between 4,000 and 6,000. I don't know the figures these days but given the parks are busier now than then, one could infer that means more people than that now? Fluctuated is the past tense of fluctuates which is the current tense. The more you know

  18. This is very good news. Incidentally I'm off to my local bar this afternoon. They have happy hour 4-6 where drinks are $5. I don't think they make any money on that because normally they charge $9
