  1. Past hour
  2. I couldn't find a better photo, but my first thought would be to put this sort of thing over the support legs like the old claw - The base looks very 'unfinished fibreglass' so it's likely getting covered at the bottom.
  3. Today
  4. Back on topic https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BQn7VCkbB/ Nevermind @Brodsbeat me to it.
  5. Speaking of, Dreamworld shared a video on their socials this morning. This looks incredible!! šŸ˜
  6. As is typical in ride construction threads, updates taper off once most vertical construction is completed. We will see updates when it undergoes more testing and\or finishing touches are added but for now the conversation is pretty stagnant, and this is what happens when tangential discussions spin off. Sure, it's off topic but there isn't any specific rule to that is there? The conversation on King Claw will return when there is an update.
  7. This conversation has several pages of conversation unrelated to King Claw. Perhaps it should be spun off into a new thread?
  8. Yesterday
  9. Must be hard to get good staff who are willing to only work 2 days a week to December.
  10. I agree, Dreamworld isn’t the same as it was since Covid. Crowed levels are drastically more and I don’t think the Covid era hours will help DW in the competition between them and Village
  11. Agreed! A lot of schools do end of year trips to the theme parks too, missing out on that potential market. They’d make less money and no one will pay to go to quarter of the park. In my wind it’s either open the whole thing or dont, there’s no other option. I’d speak with park management about the potential of opening WWW full time again (or at least more than it currently is) and they aren’t against the idea, but when you may out all of the info (demand, costs, etc) it hasn’t made sense from a business perspective to have it open more than it is. My initial reaction to this was the park needs investment to make the park more appealing so that more people will won’t to go. I understand closing for the winter, but not opening more regularly (ie opening full time from late November) still seems like a strange choice.
  12. Lol - nobody attacked you for your opinion - And all I did was counter it with my own. As for website quality and functionality - you wot m8?
  13. Hopefully this time the refurb is properly done so there isn’t a weird mix between Italian streets and Aussie country town
  14. I agree with the general opinion on WWW not being open. I think it is crazy to wait until December 15 to reopen WWW for full week operations, when many school goers finish in mid-late November (Year 12), I do hope that DW trust that people will come to at least have WWW starting full week trading before then ideally mid November. it doesn’t even need to be a full park for full hours. But when summer is right around the corner and DW has no water rides I think it would be for the best to have WWW open to at least offer different experiences then just roller coasters. If we can’t have WWW as an option to visit just for staffing reasons, then maybe just offering the green room tower, fully 6 and wave pool would be enough.
  15. New ad promoting the park with its new logo: https://www.facebook.com/share/r/169PdLtCXq/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  16. Both the Good Lord and I reckon, there should be more focus on website quality and functionality and less attacks on other people for expressing a point of view!
  17. I believe Parque Warner Madrid updated their logo a year or two ago to something like this - from what I know the archway and globe there still have the old logo. Same with the WB park in Abu Dhabi - the logo on the water tower and the logo used on socials/in park don’t match. If the other two WB parks have different logos on signage compared to everywhere else I doubt the one at the entrance will change. The new logo isn’t designed by Village - they were likely forced to change it to this to adhere to design standards by WB. Parque Warner Madrid’s logo also looks nearly identical as you can see here, the only difference apart from the text is the inside of the shield and the Parque film strip is slightly longer. The shield from the old Movie World logo looked a bit uneven - can see why WB wanted the one unified logo used for both parks as well as everything else they own.
  18. Totally here for a reimagined logo to match the updated WB logo. But this looks bad. I’ve worked in graphic design for many years and this just looks not very well considered and lacking detail and character.
  19. Its eh, not sure what I think of it yet. Numerous places on their website it disappears into the background... it needs an outline. The Gold Coast part appears when you scroll down Disappears again Looks a little out of place here... I think it looks weird mostly due to the logo now being longer, old one was a tighter curve and more compact. I assume this change would be less jarring if it was the same size as the old one and was a colour/font update.
  20. Noticed this in TPO newest video capturing the last showing of HWSD2. Seems work on updating the buildings for this new show has already begun, that blue paint looks quite new and unfinished to me.
  21. Exactly why I'm curious to see. The entry sign (you drive under) is looking quite sad and due for an update/"reimagining" regardless.
  22. Mate I live in Ormeau, I know full well of the terrible traffic, it’s so bad now since when we built 6 years ago
  23. I imagine it’ll be similar to how Dreamworld have been gradually rolling out their retro logo over time. The only difference will be if WB themselves have mandated that the branding needs to be updated within a certain amount of time as part of their licensing agreement.
  24. From what I’ve seen, the view that Movie World has really gone downhill has become fairly mainstream lately. I’ve had many non-enthusiast friends, family and work colleagues tell me they’ve been disappointed in Movie World during recent visits and that they found Dreamworld to be far more enjoyable. I’ve seen similar discussions in various (non theme park related) online communities too. I honestly don’t really care if it’s currently considered a half day park or not. I’d much rather visit an overall decent park with care for the guest experience and lightning fast operations like Dreamworld over a park that continuously frustrates guests like Movie World.
  25. Exactly my thoughts, it will be interesting to see if they update the entry and arch signage to reflect this as a mater of priority or if it just progressively is updated across the park as things are replaced ect. They only just released a new magnet with the old logo too. https://shop.themeparks.com.au/collections/all-warner-bros-movie-world/products/superman-magnet-copy
