  1. Past hour
  2. Tbf, that image is a preliminary image of the queue in its current, and unchanged, state. They haven’t started any work yet (apparently they don’t even have a solid plan so far, but that part is solely hearsay), so the extent of the work to be done is as of yet unknown.
  3. Tell me about it my son just asked to go this afternoon, I brought up the maintenance schedule (strangely not opening on the app so you have to go on the website) Only rides beyond toddler ones open are Road Runner, GL and JL. he says “you can’t count JL as everything in it is always broken, what is wrong is movie world these days”. From an 11 year old who is also fed up haha
  4. If that’s the case where do you put the single rider line Doesnt look like anything’s changed in that queue shot you’d think they would clear more room in the standby line to put in a single rider line?
  5. Today
  6. I mean, why not sort out the SE queue while It was closed for Flash construction?? too simple? Not disruptive enough?
  7. It was messed up 12 months ago too. So thanks for giving us the green light. After every hoildays, MW seem to give the customers the middle finger.
  8. Sky Voyager building was such an awful move by past management But the emporium repaint looks really nice One thing the current management really do get is that the place has to look nice and appealing to get the guests in and they are doing this really well
  9. They need more videos where a couple literally says nothing for 5 mins about how the park apparently caters to their childs needs That was some of their most groundbreaking polished work
  10. Heres the thing at this point what do you actually want them to do These projects are already happening so not like tomorrow they can just go stuff it and open everything All we can hope for is this is a one time thing and once all this new stuff gets sorted they dont end up like this again Bitching about it like every single day seems like a waste of energy at this time its just shit and thats obvious but kinda is what it is at this point If its still in this messed up state in 12 months then its worth starting on about it again
  11. There are always two hydraulic cylinders or ratchets, so one failed cylinder doesn't mean that the seatbelt is the only restraint, but yes, still impossible to detect with the belt tightened. Another interesting fact here is that DC Rivals is setup such that only one cylinder is locked in the station, and the cylinder that gets locked alternates between each dispatch, this way they both get checked every two cycles. When the train actually goes to dispatch, the other cylinder gets locked.
  12. Yesterday
  13. Agree that it should work in both directions, but it's a matter of have they actually designed it that way? All the PLC on the track, brake and tyre drive contact points etc all need to be considered in the design. Also approach angles for any parts that might interact (or aren't meant to). There's a fair bit of engineering required. And complexity adds additional points of failure. They don't want a dud ride that's always failing.
  14. Yes, but that includes both directions/orientations, so having it only suitable for one seems rather backwards (mind the pun). If the addition/lack of a bumper is the limiting factor, I highly doubt it won’t have a bumper of some form on both the front and back of the train, as they’re seemingly commonplace even on trains that only run forwards. Also, the current obvious front ‘bumper’ that’s shown on the brown train mightn’t actually be the bumper, therefore not ending up present on the coaster itself.
  15. Just randomly checked Google Maps, & they’ve got updated aerial images yet again (albeit lower quality ones than NearMap). Wizard of Oz/Flash: Rivertown
  16. The actual chassis (disregard the body) would travel the same route, based on the animation by WallyWorld. As I said, logically you'd design it to run both directions, but Dreamworld have painted each train differently and stated they will have a forward and a backward train. The stills posted above aren't clearing this up either, as the brown train has a bumper, but the green train appears to be on a jig still.
  17. Again, both trains will travel in both forward & backward orientations throughout the layout, therefore it seems almost impossible that they’d somehow limit each train to only run in a single orientation/direction by design. In the case of one-train ops, they could keep either one of the 2 trains in the maintenance bay & keep the other cycling throughout the normal course, or any other iteration of the course that may (but likely wouldn’t) occur, I’d imagine without any real issue.
  18. Refurbishment of the queueing area doesn't mean a full retheme. If you're just removing lockers, that can be done behind temporary walls/fencing. Shuffling the queue rails around wouldn't take much, they're only bolted to the floor. Could all be made off site and installed after hours. Add a single rider and fast pass queues through the (I assume, not been for years) unused shop space. All meets at the top of the ramp. Probably do that during the next shut down. The return on investment is low (run by investment group remember), so it's not going to be like the change over from Lethal Weapon to Arkham Asylum was.
  19. The implication I took from Dreamworld specifying that there is a forward and a backwards train, is that the actual chassis underneath is designed to only travel one direction, and it's just how the body on top is mounted that orientates the direction of travel. Looping the red section continuously would have the chassis end up facing the wrong way. Logically you would engineer the chassis to travel both directions (if that's possible?), as single train operations are common here in Australia. Otherwise Dreamworld will always have to run the forward facing train year round, and those wanting to ride backwards might miss out, outside of peak times. Or run both trains constantly, with the backwards one potentially running with limited loadings.
  20. Great to hear this change is finally happening. If they’re removing the lockers, I wonder if they’ll add this area back into the queue zones and create a single rider line. Every since it opened, the ride ops have had to yell into the queue for any single riders and this would speed up that process.
  21. Speaking of the devil, This is the happiest day of my life!
  22. It does specifically say ‘removal of the lockers system’ in the announcement post, and they have those paid lockers near GL that serve that purpose anyway. They may need that space for whatever solution they plan for Superman, too.
  23. The lockers might end up staying and just be paid lockers for general use.
  24. A practical use case for this would be, if the weather isn’t permitting for the ride to run in the dominantly outdoor section, but it’s favourable enough to run the indoor section, cycling that once or twice instead. Though, given the (hopeful) on-ride storytelling focus, the fact that doing so would necessitate 1 train ops/significantly lower capacity, and the already niche use case even in a more practical scenario (I doubt people’d want to ride/staff it in such conditions anyway), I’d be surprised if such a mode was programmed. At the end of the day, if a second go-around on either half were to be needed for whatever reason (turntable stuck in position, second half valley, etc.), there’s always manual operation/evacs.
  25. Just looking at that GIF, lets say the ride goes up the turntable and around the red part then back up the turntable, would there be an option to make it go to red again and make it loop as long as they want? Would be good for influencers making a "who can stay on the rollercoaster the longest" video.
  26. MW site states SM is down because it broke. I read somewhere MW is just in the planning stage with SM but I can't find where I saw it, so maybe I dreamt it.
