Please no. There's enough weeeeee loop-dee-loop in this world already.6 points

Oh the conflict this would create for today's PC brigade. On one hand you're taking the progressive step of naming a major attraction after a female superhero. On the other hand, you're objectifying women by taking a ride on Wonder Woman.5 points

I think it's worth recapping for the newcomers that parks in Australia have an unhealthy relationship (compared to the rest of the industry globally) with Apple-like secrecy for major projects. For all intents and purposes, those who know all the facts aren't going to risk their careers and working relationships just to be the first with the scoop. It's not like it's a big industry with alternate career possibilities for whistleblowers either, if you burn one bridge chances are you'll burn most of them in the process. Here's a hot tip - if a community leader calls bullshit, well, it most probably is. In saying that, it's not like fun little hints aren't dropped all the time that immediately go over people's heads. TLDR - pay attention to the folks who have been around here for a while.5 points

Even if they had to bin $100k worth of merch, it flails into insignificance in the overall cost to the business in what has occurred.4 points

The Flash sells as a name for a Coaster and would be instantly recognised for what it is... Even if the Character himself has never had quite the same level of success or the Reputation that such a ride would immediately own.3 points

For those of you who didn't get to go and wanted to peak inside the mazes, here's something you might find interesting.3 points

There is ZERO chance of them selling Merch with TRR on it, zero. Making sure they don't make a loss on a few t-shirts means jack compared to brand damage of (more) people waking around with TRR advertised, and would be microscopic compared to the losses they've already felt3 points

I'll be there officially on Saturday now. Expect to see some lovely shots from the re-opening.2 points

Keen to see how it pans out, but IMO the plaza is too small for carnivale. There's a 99% chance in wrong though, so my only gripe now lies with the extra travel time to get there...... And the extra fuel money I'll have to pay @JaggedJanine to get there1 point

I actually wish Australia was spoken about more in the Theme Park world... There are so many people who call themselves enthusiast and when discussing new rides around the world, completely ignore all rides in Australia that are exactly the same. For example: A new coaster coming to Sea World San Diego. Many are hailing it as completely new and original, and a lot wonder what the experience will be like. Come on... Just shows how overlooked Australia is. I swear it looks almost exactly the same as Jet Rescue, and Jet Rescue only got one mention I saw out of the heaps of discussions I've viewed on the wave breaker. I just hope that this new hyper will give the rest of the world a kick to look at Australia more. It may even catch the attention of more than just theme park enthusiasts... #lookataustralia1 point

Was this an official image or just something someone mocked up? it does seem to fit with their branding at the time... Nope - found an official photo with that imagery here: So TRRR was featured on their 'happiness' and 'australia's biggest theme park' branding, which is potentially why we saw that message ditched completely. I also think this is a little in bad taste: From :https://www.redbubble.com/shop/dreamworld Clearly it's not an official shop, but it has lots of park imagery there and up for sale, which I daresay would be against the terms and conditions of entry.1 point

I agree with Brad. There's going to be no merchandise with TRR on it, the only exception would be reference/history books of DW's past. The stock removed would only cost in the tens of thousands at most, a fraction of losses since park closure. TBH, a lot of it was cheap foreign made stuff anyway, such as rulers, key rings, stickers, & knickknacks. TRR hasn't been a lead attraction to have featured on any recent clothing, from memory?1 point

I think Six Flags did a fairly good job of it. They named it Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth. Your riding Wonder Woman's Lasso, not Wonder Woman. There will always be people finding something to complain about though even with that name.1 point

All one has to do is read back over the green lantern discussion threads to see how obvious hints like 'you'd have to be el loco not to' etc etc. Reading those threads you can see just how many people were hinting at what Green Lantern was - and very few people got the hint for a very long time. But they're just a clique of people that downvote everyone!1 point

Actually, a lot of information IS told to staff. They just keep their mouths shut, something which as we've discussed many times, they are contractually obligated to do. Perhaps because your friend knew you were likely to take that news and blab it all over a public forum, they spun you a little bullshit to keep you occupied and have a laugh.1 point

My guess, given the rough nature of AA, when you can't see where you're going, you can't brace, and therefore - people not intimately familiar with the ride layout were getting hurt. I personally don't think we'll see it back unless they can alter the VR imagery to give some sort of 'warning' of the change of direction - i'm thinking like a 'virtual track' or some other sort of indicator, without ruining the experience. the alternative would be to move the technology to something less violent - which in the first instance i'd probably say GL.1 point

I called Movieworld, and was told is vague terms: "Due to a software update, the VR system has been unuseable, and the park is trying to fix it/find a fix. Furthermore, we are unsure if the VR experience will ever be coming back". Very weird1 point

Ok so here we go: Disneyland is not a circle. Especially not a perfect one. Although they are generally 'rounded' in shape, and follow the 'hub' concept, each land sprawls as it needs to. Also bear in mind that whilst the berm for the railroad follows a relatively circular shape, that is not the boundary of the park as many ride show buildings extend beyond the berm. Expansions and additions also ruin your circle - Hong Kong Disneyland's expansions to date have all been outside the railroad. In addition, whilst the park may have a vague 'circular' shape, you ignore all of the support and logistics the park needs, which typically fill in the gaps and square off against the correct property boundaries. Lastly - Hong Kong (and Magic Kingdom) showed us that to build a 'disneyland' park, one doesn't need the same amount of land as previous parks - it can be bigger or smaller. Why would you travel somewhere for a complete replica? first of all - none of them are. Each park has its own subtle differences whilst still being true to the 'americana' that is Disneyland. Each still has 'familiar' things - like main street, and the hub, and the castle, but each does things differently too. Sorry but - Disney has built in the middle of nowhere many times over. The original Disneyland was in a field of orchards a great distance from the population sprawl at the time. That was the issue - there was much land surrounding the park easily snapped up by people wanting to cash in on the disney tourism in the area, so Anaheim developed quickly into a sprawling trashy tourist metropolis. This is why Walt set about building his second park.... IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE in florida - only this time he bought thousands of acres of land all around his chosen site so that nobody else COULD build near him, whilst also giving room for expansion. I believe Paris Disneyland is the same situation - its a huge trek from metropolitan centres, and TBH - Hong Kong Disneyland is about as far from Hong Kong as you could possibly be out on Lantau Island - although everything in Hong Kong is relatively close - so its hard to be far from anything there. As for Kiwikurra - hell yes i'd go. I don't care where it is.1 point

I agree. If the DC theme is being followed the WW and Flash would be logical choices. WW is currently celebrating her 75th anniversary and the movie is out next year which gives a promotional opportunity to jump on the back of. At this rate we may see track before an announcement and the colour of the track may help with the guessing.1 point

Flash was in Suicide Squad & Batman v Superman, will be in Justice League next year and has a standalone movie releasing in 2019 (was supposed to be 2018 but has been delayed due to a director change).1 point

For the record, as Parkz Crew, @AlexB probably hasn't. But you know, we wouldn't really expect a "non-genuine enthusiast contributor" to know that.1 point

I freakin' love that "Jingeri" is one of the biggest and most prominent welcomes at the front entrance (it means greetings in the local Yugambeh language for those of you playing at home) and that they've dedicated a huge banner to DWF. Can't wait to checkout what other changes the park has made.1 point

Yes, I'm serious: This is part of a photo from Jamberoo's website: Top circle: The bus & utility pole theming on the grass waiting installation. The Model T Ford ute theming is already installed on The Perfect Storm's main Tornado. Middle circle: The outhouse theming waiting installation. Bottom circle: The cow theming waiting installation.0 points

I simply don't agree. From a thrill seekers point of view their new rides and attractions haven't geared toward me. Possibly families and young kids/teens but the park is in desperate need of a thrilling full length coaster.-1 points

And by ever, i mean in OUR lifetime, so say in the next 50-60 years. I think it will. I heard they own land in Australia and have scouted for possible locations for a theme park. So they've definitely shown interest but it seems at this stage that it's a no go.-1 points
