  1. All effects are working outdoors. the geysers, wobbly rocks, ghost down saloon, water trough, water tank etc. Looking better than it has in years.

  2. How would MDMC closing affect the number of thrill rides in the park? Would be very surprised if it was closing.

  3. Oh the amount of fuel used to cover the construction of Superman Escape and the demo of Thunderbolt/install of Cyclone almost had me divorced... 😉

  4. I've a feeling Magician actually will go to SW just to get pics, but your premise is spot on.

  5. Speaking of passing Sky Voyager - I do hope that they're planning to knock down the fairy shop. I know, nostalgia and original buildings and all, but with SV's building encroaching on the original pathway through to Goldrush, its a pretty narrow portal to be pumping people through into your latest attraction.

  7. Didnt want to start an entirely new thread as this on will suffice, but it does bump 12 year old thread !! Just found a couple of videos on Magic Mountain Miami which I am pretty sure have not been featured on these pages! Great vision and certainly worth a look!! The first one is from somewhere between 1983 and 1987 and there are great shots of the Waveswinger and the Parachute Drop The second video is from a few days in 1987 just before the park closed for good. It was taken by a resident magician who worked there and it provides a fascinating insight into a park in its final days and of the people who worked there. Enjoy!!

  11. In the DC Rivals construction thread, people were demanding new photos often and it was very bad form. People are not going to go to SW just to get pics for this thread. Be patient, and then happy when new photos are uploaded by a generous member of the forum. With DCR, it was easy to get pics on people's commutes as we were spoiled. There isn't the same opportunity with Leviathan.

  12. The arms have been removed from Doomsday and have been taken off site The work on the WWF entrance seems to be complete and they have rebuilt the cabin The Fun House is still closed and partition walls have been added. It isn't clear what they are there for No noticeable works happening on Sylvester’s Pounce’n’Bounce

  13. Mick Doohans Motocoaster has been removed from the website completely.... The Motocoaster has been removed from the thrill rides list... The Motocoaster has also been removed from the Ride information list. And the Motocoaster’s website has been 404.

  19. No sidecars?. Ouch. That's going to hit families big time. This is one of those coasters you could do as a family with a little one who could meet the rider requirements. Was always a good ride cause you get those two onride photos. I hope this is temporary.

  23. heh - it isn't really flat - they've riveted it on with a bit of a buckle\bow in the steel so while the steel is flat, its technically 3d! It looks horrible. And the bigger sign back where the vultures are is the same flat printed steel and its even worse - the colours seem brighter and bolder on the vulture sign which looks more like a carnival sideshow sign than something out of the wild west. It seems like the master painter \ artist \ signwriter has been given the arse, and they've replaced them with a cheap digital sign printer they normally use for their A-frames. Apathy at its finest folks. ick.

  24. On my visit last week, the wall did not connect to BRC. It blocked the riverside path to Billabong station, while still maintaining an access path between it and BRC to get to billabong, and i think there are toilets down there too? I'll grant you a 'dead end' at the saltwater crocodile exhibit at the other end of that, and the park is a shambles with things walled off or closed currently, but BRC is NOT a dead end. Anyhow, since we're being so black and white - 'half the park' doesn't really look like 'half' I took a straight line between the corroborree wall and the billabong wall. What is closed in this 'half' of the park? the sheep shearing show? koala photos? some wildlife exhibits? Or is this just your favourite walking track? You're all cut up about this being walled off but there is very little in that area that is popular with non-japanese tourists. You really don't. Heh - these are the crowds I referred to last week - hopefully less of them buy passes as a result, and the park will be less crowded. I'm more than happy to pay a higher price for a pass if it reduces the karen population in-park.

  27. Comparing the old and new WWF signs. They’ve unfortunately gone for a flat, printed new sign. But in good news, the ride reopened today

  28. You’d also have to have very high quality onboard video of past rides, which is unlikely they have due to technology at the time for anything pre 2000s

  34. I thought it was a great series and really gave a good insight into their thought process and why certain decisions/directions were made. Having been to Disneyland Paris, it was great to see how that park developed and their high level of attention to detail

  35. Well the website says it’s opening this Summer. From what I saw when I was there last week, that won’t be happening. April is definitely a more realistic time frame

  36. Well that is great news and if it does set to cost that much, that is a great investment from the park that will hopefully pay off. And if it does indeed open late next year, that will be good competition against SW with their new coaster. Lets hope DW get something never before seen in Australia.

  38. That actually sounds like a great idea so the parents can be like “oh I remember that” and the kids can be shown what the park was like when their parents were kids
