  2. Bit harsh. We know LPS can do better. But these rides were excellent in their time and many have been found in numerous parks around the world- would you offer the same criticism of these parks that have examples of these in their ride roster as you do of LPS? They could have been better presented true, but the LPS Huss collection were in my mind, a step above your average travelling ride. The LPS examples ( Ranger, Troika, UFO and Breakdance) were rare rides and in in some cases, the only example of this type of ride in Australia. having them as attractions made the visit to LPS far more attractive than having common run of the mill traveling rides. An important era of the park and Australian amusement park history is drawing to a close with their removal. They deserve a little more respect. Oh and fixed the sitting on chicks issue you seem to have.

  3. I get it. 20-year-old ride (actually older than 20 years) that is a carnival ride is shit. Maybe you haven't seen the history of the park tho. Luna Park has always had carnival rides or rides that closely resembled them. That's the character of the park. This ain't a theme park. Its an amusement park. Completely different beast. Sure having the almost same ride lineup for almost 10-12 years was annoying but heck the park existed. These rides removals and future ones come down to age. I'll agree with you on that. But they also come down to the fact the park is tiny. You can't just slam in the world latest and greatest euro fighter coaster. It would not be a great fit honestly. The park is family-friendly, the first date friendly. It is not a thrill ride destination. It's a fun destination. So while many look at this park and go "what the hell are they doing they got the best views of Sydney harbour" it ain't about that. Go through home movies on youtube of LPS, from the '70-'80s if you search hard enough. Youll sees what I mean. I take my hat off to LPS. Its pure survival is amazing. You say "tired travelling rides sitting on chocks for 20 years!". I say well done. Well done LPS. You have made these ones of a kind rides last much longer than most parks around the world. UFO, Ranger & Trokia (Tumble Bug) where indeed very rare rides to have within Australia. Who knows what rides we will get. You know what tho. That's the fun part. Not knowing. HUSS flying saucer left the park and its former place sat dormant for what felt an eternity until Volare turned up. It wasn't what anyone was expecting but its worked wonders. It also suits the park really well. So I've got faith the management team will make the right calls.

  4. I thought Parkz was friendly, calling members fuckwits is not what I’d call friendly.

  5. Whilst understanding that the buffet isn’t running as they are effectively an extinct species (although greatly missed as it was the highlight for mine), packaging a dinner with a choice of 4 meals, unlimited drinks (including alcohol) and a family photo in my opinion is overkill. The photo op should be optional, as should the alcohol package. $69 for adults $39 for kids

  6. You should eat a Snickers bar. You're not you when you're hungry.

  7. Not members, it's just that the person who made that meme is a fuckwit. Hope that clears things up 🙂

  10. Depends... there was what they had initially when next gen opened. Then last year there was a subsequent major upgrade to the Disco room because the first was so awful. Mainly driven by a change in park management that saw the need to improve the experience. That wasn’t included in the first lot of course but did cost significantly less than the first awful effort.

  13. The lower section to the right looks to have 3 maybe 4 tracks running back in, going to make for a lot of cross overs, head chops and some cool twists, this thing may have the potential to be one of the best family woodies made 🤷‍♂️

  15. Really slick looking video and i'm really, really glad that they're making US-style construction content (which is worlds apart from the strategy they had with Rivals, which left the greater public and community turning to Parkz and OurWorlds for updates - a total missed opportunity and definitely meant a slow reception by the GP as a result.) I did notice the clip isn't really engaging though, which is a real shame, and I hope the lack of engagement doesn't deter them from doing more content down the line. I'd imagine the poor engagement (and feel free to scroll if this is not quite your bag) is due to the fact that a) Facebook prefers 1:1 or 16:9 for organic content and the art studio have uploaded the same video everywhere instead of optimising it for each channel b) the content subject isn't that strong (the clip should be separated into "new ride" and "coaster construction" - when people hear precinct update #1 it sounds like it's about the gardens or something dreary and 99% would keep swiping as a result and c) most importantly of all, there's no context, no "why", no story. Clark should be explaining why the wooden coaster matters to Joe Public and that should be supported with visual context e.g. i'd be getting him to say stuff like "this coaster is going to be the ultimate wooden family thrill machine. It's going to be wild and out of control whilst still having a height restriction low enough that even the youngsters can jump in with the rest of the family. An unlike the wooden coasters of old, this new coaster will be buttery smooth, so no sore heads afterwards, just crazy-good fun." And then i'd have some CGI shots to support what he's saying and then voilah, you've just given the clip some usefulness and thus, far more engaging and hype-worthy for the general public. There's a few other things i'd do to increase the engagement and ROI on the clip but to be frank, if they want to know they should hire me. Otherwise, the cinematography, the audio and the cut are all 10/10 and as I said, great stuff otherwise. I really hope to see more.

  16. you've got to allow reaction time for that too. Bang> thud> what the...? > oh shit > slam Estop. Judging by what I saw there wasn't much of a delay for the operator.

  17. Speaking of projection mapping - whoever did Scooby needs to take a trip out to Longreach. Luminescent Longreach is bloody spectacular, and not a flat wall in sight!

  18. Wonderbuzz is indeed an admin of the Wonderland History group. Any images out there tagged with a 'wonderbuzz' watermark are, for the most part, sourced from the Wonderland Park Archives (slides and negatives that the park itself held prior to closure) and most of these were rescued by Wonderbuzz who was a cast member to the end. Wonderbuzz, among his other talents, designed a lot of the merchandise in the later years, as well as the 'Marvel Dome' in the entry plaza. He also did a lot of the website images and graphics, which is why the watermark resembles the park logo so closely - he created them both. Wonderland looked pretty similar from the M7 to what it did from Wallgrove road prior to the M7 construction. You'd mainly see the bush beast above the trees, Probe, Demon and sometimes Zodiac. Likewise similar to what you saw from the M4, but at a different angle.

  19. Pretty cool that they're already lighting the ride AT NIGHT even though it's not even fully constructed yet. Kudos to SeaWorld.

  20. Ah, this old chestnut. Wonderland was great. It was indeed a cool park. Maybe slightly dated in the end but it was like our MW or DW. It died. The revival talks have occurred for years. While it would be great to have it back it would not be the same. Why use a popular name and potentially ruin fond memories. Sure make a new park eventually (plus with what land) and the people will come. But I can't be Wonderland 2.0 as it was literally being called. The funding was a joke. The website for that company was childish and had a few flaws in it. I am all for a new park but I only see it being done pretty much the way @AlexB mentioned it. It will be a large scale operator with patience and vast experience. Give what Rona has done tho I see anything for the future now being permanently delayed. I think Merlin has got cold feet and prefer to run the attractions they currently do as they are not weather dependant. So I don't see them changing business tactics now. Palace is still new and no one has an idea about what they are doing. It is a nice thought to bring it back. I walked out those exit gates at around 6:15 pm on the last day knowing it would never come back. That's the way I'd like to keep the wonderland memory.

  23. Well it’s official unfortunately!! Tumblebug, the 2nd last Huss ride at LPS, a Huss Troika model, is being dismantled and removed from the park. A unique ride in Australia, hopefully this is replaced with a similar family friendly ride that still delivers a good amount of thrills. RIP Tumblebug
