run a cable to another spare space such as exhibition centre close by .

why not build the house set in the exhibition centre which is actually big enough to house it, and put the production facilities in the old parkway underneath gold coaster, if that be the case?

Kevil buildings aren't big enough to house a camera run, let alone any actual set space.

That cable would be at least 100m long and would be through park guests areas.

it's ok - just run it overhead through the trees

Based on what? Objectively I think its quite possible. Its a relatively small financial investment with little footprint and they would upcharge up the wazoo for it.

Climbing the outside is simply not possible. Climbing the inside is an extremely unpleasant experience done out of necessity. I wouldn't be surprised if it had confined space restrictions either.

A tower climb is a fantasy.

They don’t run cameras in house like they use to . A lot more automated .

I think you get the idea . All this obstacles can be overcome or use the exhibition centre as you mention  .

the areas a dead area and it currently looks like mess . Would make sense . A cable does not have to run straight . Could run to back of house via old thunderbolt area and then that way

the filming set for big brother is quite small.

This space is not big enough for everything required either. It's not feasible to have all of the auxiliary production elements in the space around the DEC or Gold Coaster. They're also saying there will be a live audience again, so where would this be housed?

October through December is also always FULL of corporate events which book that space.

Because Big Brother is going to be airing in November and that’s usually when the wiggles perform at the park!

Just to be clear, I wasn't serious about the DEC being used, just that it made way more sense than Kevil.

Dreamworld just posted this and said they haven’t forgotten about the big announcement

And maybe this is a coincidence, but Big Brother just posted this at the exact same time

Considering DWs original posts about the big announcement had the same glitchy effect, I think it’s almost safe to say it’s this

Big Brother is officially returning to its spiritual home, with a brand-new house set to rise from the ashes at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.

In an exclusive reveal producers confirmed the 2025 reboot of the iconic reality juggernaut will be filmed at the very site that made the franchise a cultural phenomenon more than two decades ago.

After months of speculation and calls from diehard fans for a nostalgic full-circle moment, production company Endemol Shine has locked in Dreamworld as the official location for the show’s revival — complete with a purpose-built house.

“The demand for a reboot of the original format has been deafening, and we have listened,” SVP of Content at Paramount Australia Daniel Monaghan said, promising the reboot will honour the raw, unscripted spirit of the original series.

“With a brand-new house built on familiar ground, this season will be centred on real people with real stories, talking in real-time.”

Fronting the revival is The Cheap Seats star and Nova radio host Mel Tracina, who described the hosting gig as a “pinch-me moment”.

“I’d love to be able to recall the exact moment I got the call but my brain stopped braining from excitement,” she said.

“I was simultaneously trying not to squeal into the phone and pass out at the same time.”

Tracina, who watched the show’s very first season as a teenager, said: “The Big Brother house is synonymous with Dreamworld, so bringing the OG format to its OG location feels right. We’re excited to be home (and in a new house that hopefully comes with an air fryer).”

“I was excited when Queensland was confirmed as the location because I knew fans of the show would be wrapped. Personally, I’m also happy because I’m a Melburnian who has Jon Snow’d through winter so I cannot wait to swap my MacPac for Havaianas.”

Dreamworld CEO Greg Yong said: “We’re beyond thrilled to welcome Big Brother back home to Dreamworld. This iconic show holds a special place in our story and in the hearts of millions of Australians.”

Supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, the production will employ 95 local crew members and offer four paid attachment positions. Casting is now open at bigbrothercasting.com.au. The new season will air later this year on 10.

When I drove past Dreamworld the other day it looked like they had put new fencing in where the Monster Truck Show was, on the border outside Coomera State School. I wonder if perhaps they will put the house in that spot, then utilise the Exhibition Centre for live crosses?

Makes sense . This show will be a flop once again  . Calling it now .

it’s nostalgic but the time has come and gone for the format and what the park was at that time .

I doubt dreamworld are spending here because it’s poor $ for limited advertising now . We are in new world of social media with bigger bang for buck where teenage market is . Just providing the space for free and electricity .
