This must be the most covered flat ride construction in history.6 points

If it were me I'd wait until after their latest addition opens and gets some traction before announcing another future attraction.6 points

You know you're a theme park addict when "I don't get to go there often" means you only get to visit once a week!!4 points

Just found more evidence that an announcement could be imminent. This press release about Arkham Asylum - Shock Therapy's virtual reality experience addition released on the 20th of July 2016 says: Saying "coming weeks" indicates 'less than a month'. That would indicate an announcement no later than 20th August 2016 - 3 days off the "60 days" timeline that Movie World indicated on the 24th of June 2016: Even though this now means the announcement has been delayed by possibly 13 days, I still feel confident some sort of announcement is imminent. To publicly tease the announcement date 3 times over the past 10 months (November 2015 & June/July 2016) to allow it to be narrowed down to a mid-August announcement before nothing happening and suddenly Mack Rides crates appear 12 days after the likely announcement date seems too coincidental to me. I feel something has caused a delay in the announcement - maybe the crates themselves arrived late even though they (again, coincidentally) arrived on September 1st - an easily memorable date? Like other forum members have said, it would now be logical to avoid the rollercoaster announcement clashing with the Doomsday Destroyer opening. There is a chance the general public could mix the two up particularly as firstly, the rollercoaster is highly likely to be DC Comic-themed too and secondly, when Movie World announced the DC Comics Super-Villains Unleashed themed area, they brought their roaming Justice League characters out for the media. They might do the same when the area opens next month. As a result of this potential mix-up, I do think, like @AlexB suggested, that a 'teaser' would instead be more appropriate now than a full announcement - as long as they clearly promote that the rollercoaster is opening next year instead of a generic 'coming soon'. If not, the general public will still mix up the two like I said earlier and hence, the announcement should then instead be pushed out to mid-November, the latest possible announcement date so far.2 points

When I learnt Suspended Twin Hammer was the next addition and I looked up this- I was disappointed. What MW has accomplished with this ugly ride is remarkable. The detail MW have put into the ride is impressive. @reanimated35 Time to rock the Parkz shirt @Richard should make @Theme Park Girl a official Parkz photographer. Thank you @Theme Park Girl For all the photos you have posted. You have made this build very enjoyable to watch.2 points

Pics from this morning.... area is looking fairly complete now, as is DD! And also haunted too, given the amount of sheet clad ghosts in the area. Ex residents of Boot Hill, perhaps? Then again, Fright Nights is right around the corner Sneak peek below for those with good eyesight... or at least know how to use the photo zoom function on their computers/phones ? Oh, and looks like next Tuesday is when the Doomsday Destroyer will finally take on its first round of human riders (assuming that staff don't get to it first, which they probably will ??) as Premier and Elite membership holders has this invite emailed out to them this morning... We can only assume the general Premier & Elite only soft opening will be held afterwards2 points

So I went for a bit of a snoop this morning around the new construction site... got lots of piccies ??2 points

See I would have thought that if the interactive elements are part of the statues, that they'd be built into the statues as a standalone object - put it in place and plug it in...2 points

Launch? Shuttle? Biggest loop? Stuff all that. No easy gimmicks, I'm hoping for just a kick ass coaster that doesn't need any gimmicks to sell itself.2 points

Not sure if stupid or just trolling. ...... Someone asked about Nearmap of the Mack factory? As far as I know nearmap is only available here, and select US cities (Separate licence for them anyway)1 point

The Parkz Update: Groundwork underway on Movie World's 2017 roller coaster Crates and crates of Mack Rides components, and plenty of cleared dirt as Warner Bros. Movie World gears up for their 2017 roller coaster. Click here to continue reading1 point

True that.. I love going to the cinema, but since Kids came along I don't go as often. The change has gone from fortinightly movies to 2-3 must sees each year. thats been countered by more theme park visits, albeit with the majority of time spent in ABC4Kids World & WB Kids1 point

Funny you should mention that, @reanimated35... I ended up having an unexpected discussion with one of the roof labourers last time I was there taking pics (he was finished for the day and standing nearby) and he had the exact same concerns. He wasn't so convinced either that the clearance for the monorail was enough for it to fit under/through! Surely Sea World would have done all their homework in advance, though? Maybe it's just an optical illusion of some sort I'm sure it will be fine and they have it all worked out. That said, I'd love to be there when they do the first test cycle1 point

Great scoop by 'WeddedWonderland'... i have always loved when the text in an article completely contradicts the headline..1 point

^ Most likely , Thanks for the pics ThemeParkGirl! Has anyone thought about a Mack Rides Big Dipper? It's quite new from Mack, and while I definitely don't think it's world class, it seems like it did well at Wallabi Holland.1 point

Borrowing the words of our wet blanket of a prime minister, could this be the most exciting time ever to be a Parkz member?1 point

I think one of these would be perfect for Wet'n'Wild. Yes there is a watercoaster down the road, but the 'flying saucer' elements would, I think, set it apart from the hydrocoaster at WWW. http://www.proslide.com/rides/rocketblast-flyingsaucer/1 point

well, it does say 'Mack Rides' on the crate - so anyone who looks close enough is going to know its for a ride. Huge black dome - bring on SPACE MOUNTAIN!1 point

A few of us have been told by staff that it is actually going to be a bar (if you read back through the thread you would know that.) They may have characters in there considering the theme but it won't be a maze.1 point

Make it 100m.. Haha. And put a false canopy over it so no helicopters can cheat a look1 point

I'd erect a 50m high curtain around the entire area and not announce anything until a week before opening..1 point

Gotta remember. Most all of that stuff would mean nothing to anyone except a few on this site. Just looks like any other construction project to someone who isn't an enthusiast.1 point

^Doesn't have to be a direct clone of the one in China though does it? Coasters can do these things called turns lol, that help them fit onto sites.1 point

In a Parkz article from the start of the year, there was a bit about Flash at Lewa Advenure. "The German company also offers more traditional coasters featuring lift hills, both with and without inversions. Their largest roller coaster to date is the 61 metre tall, 1273m long Flash that opened at Lewa Adventure in China earlier in 2016; this ride takes the traditional out-and-back hypercoaster ride style and adds a loop and zero-g-roll." This would be perfect IMO. It's a Hyper, Mack & has an out and back layout. I did up a rough layout from google maps & its just too big to fit in that area, keeping in mind my measuring is very rough!1 point

Another day, another stupid suggesting that this area could support a Disney park.1 point

Lol. I don't get there as often, though! Especially since I don't live so close to the park. This morning was my first visit to Movie World in almost a week0 points

I would post more photos but I have to go straight to work after visiting in the mornings, so I can't post any new photos until after 6. Which is why nikki always gets in before i do.0 points

any educated guesses on a potential soft opening date?-1 points

^Well if they are filming the commercial next week, the area will probably only need finishing touches after that. So I'd imagine at the beginning of the school holidays.-1 points

Nah I bought my tickets when they weren't selling the passes and they don't have an option to upgrade yet. Plus I'm working.-1 points
