  1. My conclusion is it was a waste of an hour I will never get back.

  2. People are free to talk about the theme, pull your head in. Re mack doing a Floorless coaster...nope. I'd consider a floorless one where there is nothing between your feet and the track, so you see the track structure and crossties whizzing below your feet at high speed.

  3. I was just at Dreamworld today and a few of the ride attendants were saying the Wipeout will re-open either Tuesday or Wednesday. Then stay open for a few days and close for annual maintenance.

  4. Planes can fly 500 feet above the ground in populated areas, and they cannot fly within 500 feet of any person or structure. I don't think any rules are being broken here. I don't care anyway, they can waste money paying for planes and banners and whatever, their message has no merit to it so no one will listen.

  5. @YLFATEEKS looks like you were right, some trees have got a haircut In other news, new pile of soil, man going along and is trimming the tubbing on top of the posts around the fence, small digger at the turn around point at further away from MW part of site. And there is a large gate there, so I'd say a lot of the track and columns will be moved onto the site from here

  6. I don't think it would rule out the coaster being themed to Aquaman, but I do think we can rule out the sets being used throughout the rides footprint. Unless they are displayed inside, the sets probably wouldn't last very long. Ride theming is designed to withstand all types of weather and climates and human interaction, while I'd say most film sets aren't, as they are old used for a short period of time, and if any wear and tear appears then they can easily fix it up.

  11. The latest in a long line of 'sunshine coast waterpark proposals'. When they commence construction, i'll get excited. Big Kart Track is on Steve Irwin Way too I believe - which would start to create a bit of a tourism hub - so it probably has a greater chance of success than those that build next to a townhouse site... In other news.... GOOGLE THE COVE!

  13. Also just looking to confirm the theming in these two areas please. And yes, @Gazza I know the layout isn't perfect, and nor in the theming, but here we are.

  15. Some light I can shed on this, right up my alley it is... If they were moving/relocating the transformer they would have already started the new pad (transformer Uniculvert) with conduits in place through to the new switchboard location. Energex will not even consider any works until this is done well in advance, total process from start to finish on our last transformer was 6 months, and we had to wait 3 months from when we were ready onsite with everything in place. That being said, there could be a switchboard upgrade happening which would require more conduits to be installed to the current transformer location, and there is a somewhat easy way to tell this. If anyone is at the park looking through fences as we all do, look for an electrical "Pit". You would walk over them all the time through the city and may have never noticed them, if there are new pits int he ground then the conduit works have been completed already. I would, as a GUESS only, think that considering the good weather over the footing install stage, we would start to see parts arrive end of March for an April vertical start. This would allow most of the supports and track to be complete by end of May, wiring and systems in through June/July with testing starting in August for a September opening. Also we now have to consider that the testing will be a lot more scrutinized after the Dreamworld tragedy, so this may have been allowed for as well, in my own opinion.

  16. So putting it out there for everyone. There will be a clean up to this thread coming soon, anything not related to the actual construction or just dumb made up speculation about dates etc is going to be removed. If you want to talk rubbish about "my fridge says this date" or erections or anything else not actually relevant to the construction please take it to chit chat. That means that there might be days without posts until track arrives or an announcement is made and here at parkz we are totally ok with that.

  17. I really don't think any of our parks can afford to install something that only has a 3 year shelf life.

  18. My 8-year-old was watching H20: Just Add Water on Netflix, and the particular episode featured quite a bit of Sea World - she called me in to show me "how cool Sea World used to be". This particular scene was showing Bermuda Triangle in operation (just externally at the final drop).

  20. The page above was copy/pasted from is http://wetnwild.com.au/events/Island-life.aspx 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of Feb are the dates, worth noting that VRTP apparently cannot spell "Dominos Pizza".

  21. Well you were complaining (and asking) about the 'wording' so given the only 'word' incorrect in the sentence you posted was 'VTP' - a 'misquote' of yours - I thought you were pointing out a mistake that did not exist. The only real error in the real sentence I could see was a lack of commas - a grammar mistake. It relates in that you can participate in both (rides & magic). In relation to the 2nd quote, I see what you mean now but no, they're not 'admitting' to having crap rides (though, if they were, it would not be the first time VRTP have done something similar ). To be fair though, I don't really see how this marketing campaign is suppose to help with public confidence. Similar to what you just said, to me, it gives the impression 'Where was the magic before?'. I don't nitpick - I knew he possibly meant 'Village Theme Parks' but in the quote, it was the only word that was incorrect & he was complaining (and asking) about the 'wording' so what else could I do but point it out?

  22. Having these two quotes side-by-side makes it very hard to believe that first one. Let mistakes be mistakes, please don't pull them apart every time one is made, no-one likes a nitpicker.

  23. To me this shows the biggest issue regarding Village. They always see fit to blame others for their loses. They did it before in regards you movie piracy and now are doing it with their parks. Instead of admitting their wrongs they would rather try and distance themselves or attack. Instead they really should be focusing on themselves, so they should be fixing up their parksite d giving people a reason to go back. At the moment WnW Sydney has hardly changed since it opened and doesn't have the best staff and Sea world is only a fraction of its past. Sea World should be a park that people would play full price to go to, but as it sits the majority of people would onlyrics go if they went to WnW or MW. They should also be working with DW instead of trying to push them away. As this issue has not just been about DW the media also took aim at MW's ride "malfunctions", because of the media they are just as much a part of it as DW is. They should be working together to restore confidence in theme parks.
