I've heard rumbling to this effect. Bringing Dive in Movies back included in admission, with rides open after dark for the run of the school holidays (Not one week, not 2 weeks, but from boxing day till the weekend before school goes back. It's not a new slide, but if it happens, to me it would be a massive sign that the Tim & Bob short sighted decision making era is behind us and things are looking up.4 points

Why would you pull your kids out of school to go on a ride that is open after school and on the weekend (if it opens again that is?). Oh well, to each their own..3 points

Couldn't agree with this more. When I did a massive 5 week, 12 park, 120+ coaster trip to the USA in 2006 after the first park or so I had a splitting headache and very sore neck because I was just letting my head flop about all over the place. After talking to a coaster enthusiast in a line one day he gave me some great advice, either lean forward so your head is past the over the shoulder restraints (If possible), hold your head to 1 side against the restraint hard (kinda works but if it is really rough not really well) or actually try and anticipate where the train is going and move your head with the track, lean into the corners, push down into the seat before an airtime hill (Really helps getting airtime!). Once I started doing these things I've never had a problem since. As for AA specifically I have ridden at least 15 SLCs that I can think of across the Americas, Europe and Asia. When comparing them AA is probably one of the better SLCs that I have ridden. Endor in La Ronde to me stands out as one that was particularly rough (Although @Gazza may disagree) however some of the SLCs in China that I rode completely blow AA out of the water. Considering its age I think that AA has held up pretty well and definitely has some life left in it. Sure it's not going to last forever but I just hope when it does go that MW replaces it with something just as iconic. LW/AA was always a pretty defining ride for MW until Superman came along, just like ToT is for DW. AA (then LW) was a very new concept when it was installed (it was about the 4th SLC in the world) and really gave MW something to be boastful about.3 points

Here's some statistics: 49. Total number of posts you've made. 36. Total number of firmly negative reactions you've had. 20. Total number of fountain reacts. 16. Total number of nauseating reacts 9. Total number of likes. 25. Number of days since you said Tower of Terror wasn't going anywhere Now, looking back over your posts, you do seem to have expressed genuine interest, and even shared your opinion on some interesting topics that contributed nicely to the discussion, but the other half of your content seems to be baseless statements that are super critical, without any real backing or substance. So, you may be a really clever troll, or you may be genuinely trying to participate in discussion without realising the impact some of your wild statements are having. At the risk of taking the troll bait, if that's what you're doing - i'm going to try and genuinely offer some advice, rather than just flaming you and starting a bitch fight. Unfortunately on Parkz, the negative is always remembered way more than any positive contributions, and you aren't doing yourself any favours. I see one person has already chosen to block you. So here's the thing - if you're expressing an opinion, state it as such. Add a little substance to what you're saying. If you think something will get removed, say why. likewise if you think it'll stay. We've all been wrong from time to time, but usually if the evidence supported our conclusions at the time, its justifiable as to why we held that opinion. Saying such things like 'bulldoze the monorail' with nothing else doesn't help. The artist impressions of Atlantis show the monorail clearly working its way through the new area, so the basis of your statement is a little jarring. Did you make that statement purely on the basis that it has an open ended maintenance period published? Because the alternative - that it is closing so that construction can commence in that area - is a much more plausible explanation, given those artist impressions. Likewise, as the adage goes, never show a fool an incomplete job - the slides are currently being constructed. As mentioned above, there are still support pieces in the carpark. As for the slides 'being very short' - check the concept art. that may help you visualise a bit better. Hopefully, i've not wasted my time. For everyone else - never fear. I'm sure i'll let loose a spray next time.3 points

First of all, if this post belongs under another topic please close this. In true Amy fashion, I have decided to do a spur of the moment trip to Perth on Thursday - just to visit Adventure World. I’m also planning on going to their Fright Nights event on Thursday night (tickets already booked 😊). I’ve never been to Adventure World before let alone Perth, so I was hoping someone might give me some tips eg: do I need a locker or are there storage bins on the rides, etc I’m super excited about finally getting to visit as I’ve been trying to get there for over a year and a half and it just didn’t happen. Thanks in advance! Amy2 points

You know, since Push has been gone, its really noticeable just how much you 'nausea' react to people just because they disagree with you. It's funny its always the same people who get positive 'likes' from you too. You said everyone gets bashed. Three people have now disagreed with that broad statement. I called you out that your statement was wrong... (which it was) and you negged my reply. I literally JUST got done making a point that Arkham wasn't "easily" the worst coaster - and you come up with yet another BROAD claim, which is IMPOSSIBLE to prove... and you're gonna go neg everyone when it gets pointed out that you're wrong? Maybe just ease up on that hate button a bit mate. It doesn't do you any good...2 points

Never had “leg bashing” on AA/LW. Yeah it gets a little tighter when you hit the brakes, but I wouldn’t even call that uncomfortable unless you were stuck there for an hour. Head & neck bashing is largely based on where you hold your head and the strength in your neck. If you let you head just flop around everywhere Yeah sure you’re gonna come off with red sore ears, but hold your position or even put your head to one side on the headrest and it’s no big deal.2 points

I don't. Don't get why people keep speaking for everyone else - especially when they're wrong...2 points

Before DCR, MW got a little Doomsday filler. The fact that they're doing SOMETHING that requires investment (new projection equipment, and a commitment to opening after normal closing time - staffing, wages...), its a GREAT start. It at least shows that WnW is back on VRTPs radar... and if the movies prove popular, its a point of difference for them over WWW, which may lead to higher visitation, which in turn may lead to reinvestment.2 points

I'm pretty certain that they ditched the old projector. Now that they've built all the shade structures around the wavepool, they're going to need a new solution. Rear projection probably isn't viable. The old screen was made of metal, and you'd need translucent material to rear project which would suffer from winds. A giant screen would be cool, but the existing screen is still there, albeit perhaps a little worse for wear, and if the slab were for a screen, it's a ways back - you wouldn't see it over the pump house for half the pool - wasting a lot of space. You can see the screen in this pic - its the boxy shape on top of the pumphouse that hangs over the water a little. The screen simply rolls forward, and pivots downwards. Yes. See above. I don't think they'd need new speakers - the existing system would probably be ok, unless they really want to plow some money into it. Absolutely a new projection booth \ system is needed - and i doubt rear project is an option as i said above. With all the new cabana things... ...Nevermind. Just had a look at nearmap. There's a really convenient point for them to project from... the zipline tower is probably perfect. I tried to go back in the nearmap timeline and find the old projection booth but couldn't figure out which one it was - i feel like it was off centre though... Also, as you may be able to see in the two images in this post, the newest nearmap, the screen material has been removed, revealing the bare support frame for the screen - this lends credence to the suggestion movies are coming back, as they've probably removed it to either repaint it, or replace it.2 points

You get to the front of the queue line, and there's Greg in full horror moulage with a sign stating the ride is closed permanently, while he 'Dr Evil' laughs devilishly, telling you it was all part of their Hallowe'en event experience, and the ride is closed forever!2 points

To be fair, if I didn't like something that was approved and implemented by VRTP, I would leave a comment advising of such. I wouldn't use a negative reaction to a post where someone is simply sharing an update of what VRTP has done. >Someone posts that TOT is closing >Vomit reacts because I don't want TOT to close. >Majority of the people who see it, assume I didn't like the actual post, not the content it's referencing. Yes, reactions are there for a reason but sometimes leaving a comment to express your reaction is more appropriate than just downvoting someone for sharing relevant content.1 point

Only negative reacted to you. Just 1 reaction. It's there for a reason, and if people get so upset about it being used, then simply remove the option to 'negative' react to someone? I'll admit I shouldn't have used 'everyone' so broadly. I am more referring to anyone I know - and they have all had poor experiences on the ride, even with the new trains. But just because I disagree with something your saying by using a completely acceptable reaction, it doesn't mean you need to make a whole post about it, publicly shaming me about it.1 point

Slow load times on a quiet day is a good way to fill the ride up, and operate it less frequently = less wear.1 point

You wait about 10-12mins between cycles in your are in the main room with the video. If you had waited 10mins and then walked out once the video started as your didn’t want to wait another 5, that’s plain stupid as you were already the majority through your wait, and the video is just on timed loop now and not relevant to the cycle. The last 3 times I’ve been in we’ve moved into the second rooms mid video. You are loading in the second room for grouping when the ride has about 2 mins left in its cycle. When the attendant leaves the room while you watch the safety video, they are getting guests off the ride.1 point

How do you get head bashing on a ride with basically no over the shoulder restraints?1 point
-
Yeah totally agree! The ride system is very weird how they have to buckle the belts! Also not loading people into the preshow room while the attraction is going ruins capacity, as well as being way understaffed. They definitely need at least 2 people on each level to do restraints.1 point

Looking great. As for the height, being body slides the tower does not need to be a massive structure. Shorter tower allows people to traverse the tower multiple times without feeling as winded at the taller towers.1 point
-
I drove past this morning. The thick columns seen in the photos above are at max height because there's no more flanges for extra parts, and they have the lugs for the crane on top of the tube. The start platform is assembled on the ground, and its legs are only about a meter long, plus the height of the handrail, so yeah the finished structure will probably end up being a couple of meters higher than what was photographed.1 point

Is an LED screen out of reach? an LED screen would work well when there is still light around and could even be used during the day for VR ads like Movieworld and sponsorship ads for revenue/offset costs. (During non wave periods)1 point

So, MovieWorld gets a $30+ million Hypercoaster... Seaworld gets a wooden coaster, a Huss top spin and a star flyer.. and Wet n Wild gets a projector and a sound system for movies.1 point
-
Yeah, that's pretty much it. That's the reason it overshoots or undershoots... or sort of shoots and then rolls back a little before getting stuck1 point

I think it's because the system looses track of its position on the way back to the station, causing the magnetic braking timing to be out of sync, so it runs into the mechanical emergency brakes after the station. Still washes a fair bit of speed due to the uphill run. I could be wrong in my understanding though.1 point

Yesterday when riding we overshot the station actually. Had to roll us backwards and then control the train back into the station to “park” it they said. They were definitely trying to get as many trains through as possible. just glad we got this picture for our last ride on it 🙏🏼1 point
