  1. I'm not a car/motorsports person and not huge on the idolatry of sporting figures. The amount of foot traffic I've seen going through the museum seems to suggest that the average Dreamworld guest agrees with me. That said, the new parts of the area are really well presented. The food is a welcome improvement though most burger chains do equivalent or better gourmet fare these days. The beer is mid-strength and served in plastic cups, so about all you can say about the alcohol is that it exists. Hot Wheels Sidewinder is a pretty rubbish coaster with an improved train, bizarre on-ride audio and half-done theming.

  4. Welcome dmh and please respect our hesitation in taking your word 100% as a first time poster here. out of interest, how does a ride have a 88% theming? Where's the other 12%. 88% western, 12% not themed at all?? its a churro tower, but the top of it is missing the sugar?

  5. I'd like that poll feature someone asked for. My poll would be IS POP: a) 6 years old b)overdue for a stay in the rubber room c)epic troll who's bridge should collapse on him

  6. All Some interesting points been raised since my last visit here. There is an old saying "you cant please all of the people, all of the time" I'm talking about fast pass. Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course. Because the Kraken has proven so popular, the queues have been longer than expected. When you have a theoretical throughput of 600 guests per hour, you kind of expect/assume, that the queues wouldn't often blow out over 40 minutes. That was not the case during the hot peak months. The fast pass option is a consumer choice option and is limited deliberately (believe me, we could sell twice as many, at a higher price and bank the cash thank you very much!) so as to not upset the balance of emotions of the guest experience. Consider on a busy day, 230 Fast pass users and 5k other guests, most of whom, want to ride Kraken and don't want to queue for more than half an hour on a hot day.... right? So imagine if your in that non fast pass purchased group (and remember, they may have wanted one but they had sold out?) you've been queuing to get your first (and probably only ride of the day) and you see a fast pass guest pass you 4, maybe five times, in the time you've been waiting? We have observed this frequently and if I were that guest in the main queue line, that's just going to anger me even more. Our social media is littered with feedback based on the Kraken situation as it was. We feel that 2 rides jumped queue is fair and if you have sense you will re-visit the ride later in the day when queues have died down and ride again if that's what you want to do. We do have to react to imbalances, sometimes it is dynamic and I make no apology for changing the policy mid season. What difference does it make if we make that change now instead of September? the only difference is we are reacting to the majority feedback to try and redress the balance to be a little bit more fair. Next two rides will have high capacity. Other changes to the park layout may also be designed to address capacity issues. I think we do need to be cognoscente of the changing global economy and how that affects us over the next few years. So that's a watch and wait situation regarding MI4/5 at this stage. We all want to see continuous improvement however we have to work within our financial constraints and keep testing the market place to see where the growth potentially tapers away. Aside from that we will continue to improve our theming, landscaping, infrastructure and commercial opportunities in food and beverage and retail as well as constantly driving the highest possible service standards through our awesome team. Chat soon and thanks everyone for your support. Mark

  8. Looney toons river ride when it was new was a fantastic dark ride and so was Bermuda and gremlins such a shame they have all been removed and replaced with tacky badly themed "thrill rides" with the exception of Scooby Doo

  9. The boat ride at the Ginger Factory. Also the Big Red Car ride

  10. my favourite dark rides are Looney Tunes River Ride Batman Adventure The Ride and Bermuda Triangle, IMO Bermuda was the one that stood out out of those three,

  11. If DW sells to Wanda, I wouldn't be sure whether that's a good or a bad thing. On the plus side, we'd get more attractions, maybe one or two world class ones. On the down side, Ardent have been doing really well making DW look fantastic the past few years and I'd be worried that Wanda wouldn't continue that. But I doubt that'll actually happen and Wanda will probably just build a completely new theme park.

  12. Me personally have always liked the way the village was. Don't forget Oceangirl that it is themed around a ghost town and I think adding may take away from it. It has been a few years since I have been on it so I am unaware of the state it is in. One thing I would have always liked is maybe some interaction on the train bridge when the dynamite explodes.

  13. Agree the air conditioning is cool (pun intended). The Car Exhibit moderately interesting, the dunnies were amusingly well themed. I don't see the car exhibit as a long term attraction - though does Dreamworld's demographic have a large contingent of people who like that kind of thing? Looks like a great space to have a dark ride. Or even better, do a coaster like Van Helsing at Movie Park Germany.

  14. the 1990's movie world was just that a theme park themed to the magic of movie makeing today's movie world is a theme park of roller coasters and dc comic's i much prefer the 1990's movie world and miss it very much

  15. Scooby was an okay replacement, although Gremlins appealed more to those people not seeking thrills. There's probably a lot of visitors to the park who got more out of Movie World in 1999 than they would now. I think many Australian parks are now just ordering out of the Zamperla catalogue than coming up with their own rides.

  18. I think Scooby to Gremlins is a tough comparison. Gremlins was far more immersive, and true to 'Movie' World. Scooby is, IMO, at excellently executed family coaster (when all effects are working correctly)

  19. Scooby was definitely a worthy replacement for Gremlins, but Gremlins was still way more immersive than most additions of late. I'd say I preferred the experience of Gremlins far more than, for example, Justice League.

  20. I believe the building was raised significantly. The exit bit is enclosed slightly now and where the container used to be is what you can see there with the exhaust pipe which is the backup generator for Scooby.
