Yeah was pretty much a non event. Ride safety systems worked as designed as @djrappa has said. We had just gotten off the ride a were walking under the lift hill when it stopped. No alarms or anything. The car on the track continued through it's run but the other was stuck at the top. They gave the people on the car at the station water and umbrellas. We went to go to Justice League but it was suffering technical difficulties so we called it a day. By the time we headed to the car park they had given umbrellas to the car at the top and then the maintenance guy took them away and made his way back down. CH7 arrived just in time to get some footage before the car was released and performed flawlessly. They ran an empty car straight after it without issue. Photos below.2 points

Intamin released a new drop tower design at IAAPA called the Sky Jump. It looks a fair bit like a falcons fury style drop tour but a lot cheaper. I reckon a park like Sea World could do with it a lot. Its very different to every other drop tower on the gold coast. We've got one that goes down, we've got one that goes up, and if Sea World put this in, a thrilling ride with a pretty good capacity and small foot print, we would have a drop tower that goes down and twists you around. Have a look: It could be themed to sea birds, like an Osprey.2 points

First class reporting there. Must have been those new invisible cherry pickers because I never saw them.1 point

I managed to ride it 20 mins before it broke down today, I was in the villains area when I saw the helicopters flying the area suggesting something was up and sure enough just as I was heading to Arkham there was a carriage at the top.. I'm really glad I'm not the only who hates the media1 point

@pin142 - why would I want fencing on everything? Triggers are fun but can be a pain in the ass if you add something in later. The next thing I'm working on.....1 point

I don't know if you meant that as a joke, or if you meant that you had to walk 5 miles in the snow when you were at school. Either way, the answer is actually yes (almost). I went to school in Northern England, and occasionally in the winter it was snowing, however the distance from my house to my school was about 2 miles, not 5.1 point

here's a picture from my camera that I took of the breakdown today.. if you think the articles that have been posted have been bad then you haven't seen anything yet.. http://www.newshub.co.nz/world/six-rescued-from-movie-world-rollercoaster-2016112017?ref=NewshubFB1 point

Why is "as normal" in quotes? Like there is something wrong with that. Normal is normal ffs. Another case of where the headline should read "theme park ride operates exactly as designed"1 point

That ride is no different to skydiving - and there are plenty of people who like to do skydiving. As long as they get enough guests for each carriage on a regular cycle, it would be perfect operationally and also, everyone likes a short queue!1 point

I wasn't stating that Movie World's coaster would take 4 months, I was just suggesting that it may be quicker than over a year as you had suggested.1 point

Thanks @Jamberoo Fan and @reanimated35 Wonder who else was lucky enough to snap them up, like private buyers, etc.1 point

Other's I believe are in use as part of the JL3D theming, and I think there may have been one or two things pop up at fright night, but I haven't been able to confirm that.1 point

It appears that the Vikings Revenge at Sea World has reopened as its maintenance has been removed off the website. Happy days.1 point

Even if it is within guidelines, its a shitty, deceitful thing to do and who ever came up with it needs the sack. Rounding up for no nothing, what an embarrassment. You know what too, The prices in the parks all used to end with 95cents, now it's 99cents. That miserable little manoeuvre is your credit card fees taken care of, your product is fun, stop needlessly pissing people off!1 point

When I was at school you didn't get rewarded for good attendance. You went to school every day. It was just a given. However there were certainly punishments if you didn't attend!1 point

ToT and Buzzsaw are both thrilling, but they are both essentially shuttle rides, unlike proper coasters like Arkham, Green Lantern, Superman, Scooby Doo, not to mention the new coaster that's coming in. Hot Wheels and MDMC are the only 'proper' coasters that are billed as thrill rides, and we all know what MDMC is like. Hot Wheels is clearly the main thrilling, big, full length coaster at the park, and while I don't hate it, Dreamworld are desperately in need of a real roller coaster to even come close to matching what Movie World has to offer. Your best coasters at the park should never be shuttle rides like that.1 point

I gotta agree with you, @YLFATEEKS. Since we are on the topic, I have recently been on the end of one or two members continually to downvote all my posts without explanation, and for what seems to be the sake of it. This has included cases where reputation feedback wasn't really necessary, or made very little sense as to why they would be doing it. In these cases I have approached the members directly in hope of identifying what the ongoing issue is, and apologise if I had upset them to the point where they felt they had to act that way. However they just chose not to respond and back out of the conversation completely, which was disappointing ? By all means, if you disagree with a post that much, then go ahead and downvote it. I don't expect everyone to like what I post, and it's going to be the same for others as well. But please, be fair and make the effort to provide an explanation every now and then. I don't see the point behind what is essentially rep trolling :/1 point

same but i was even more sad when they closed the great gremlins adventure at movie world and the looney tunes river ride to be honest but looking at it now im sort of glad they have closed these older atractions becouse there is less chance of a incident happening like on the thunder river rapids with the rides been so old etc1 point

Construction on MW's hypercoaster begun in July - we are well past 4 months now but like @mba2012 said, they probably meant vertical construction - I've got that happening in a 4.5 month period (early March to late July 2017).0 points
