I genuinely think it will be great. I lowkey love family raft slides because of all the hangtime, and I love Tantrum (Tornado 24) slides for the rocking movements, this will have that, plus the bizzare sensation of never truly knowing when your raft will be sucked into the next section. (It's also got a pretty significant ride time)7 points

Roadrunner has plenty of life in it yet. Whats the reason for removing it? If we are honest, its probably the best attraction in the kids section. Its a no from me.5 points

It looks like a lot of hustle for Ardent's AGM this Friday. Perhaps finally we'll see it open soon.3 points

Nothing wrong the road runner to make any kind of case to remove it.3 points

MORE than nine months after its completion, Dreamworld’s Sky Voyager has been deemed safe enough to open to the public. However, the theme park is yet to reveal a launch date for the multi million-dollar gondola ride, which will still need some adjustments to its safety controls to meet the terms of its conditional design registration. “Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has now issued conditional design registration for the SkyVoyager, which means it has been deemed safe to operate with additional safety controls,” a statement from the department said. “Sky Voyager is now able to enter service. “As part of the conditional registration, further enhancements to controls are required. Photo: Supplied SUBSCRIBE TO THE BULLETIN: $5 A MONTH FOR THE FIRST THREE MONTHS New laws around the registration and operation of amusement rides, forged in the wake of the 2016 Dreamworld tragedy, came into force in May. The Sky Voyager had represented a key part of the theme park’s turnaround plan, along with an injection of funds from parent group Ardent Leisure, which secured a $225 million refinance deal, to allow the park to make two major announcements before the end of the year. Advertisements for the ride began appearing on bus shelter around the city this week. FROM OUR PARTNERS Binge the complete season of critically acclaimed drama Lambs of God. Dreamworld has been contacted for details of the ride’s safety and registration process as well as its launch date. The park revealed in May that staff had taken their first rides on the Sky Voyager, which was initially promoted in full-size bus advertisements for a Christmas 2018 launch. An artist’s impression of Dreamworld's Sky Voyager. Three sets of school holidays have passed since, without a hint of the ride opening. CEO John Osborne said in May the December 2018, set by previous management, had been “ambitious”. The delay has weighed heavily on the bottom line of Ardent Leisure, which logged a $21.8 million loss for the first six months of last financial year. It is expected to report its full-year results for FY19 by the end of next week and has not released a profit guidance. Additional controls sounds like useless sensors, extra manifolds and redundant fail safes. Government at its best!3 points

I personally would remove anything left of Junior Driving School, but also including the Splash Zone and add 3 or four new flat rides to that area. Things that are more modern and maybe some new rides not yet seen on the coast. While Junior Driving School works, what a waste of space. We have this massive show building and they just installed a ride that already exists in that area. They should’ve kept it as a dark ride (not necessarily water based), but something really awesome could’ve gone in. The Ratatouille ride cost $270 million, so I’m not expecting something to that scale. But I’m sure they could implement that ride system in some how. Also, a side question. Lately, has anyone seen Lola Bunny, Taz, Road Runner, the Coyote at Movie World. Even Marvin the Martin, Foghorn, Porky, Sam and Pepe Le Pew, which we’re never common, but where have they gone. They all used to be common characters, especially Lola, but I haven’t seen any of them at the park in over a year now? It’s mostly super hero appearances now (which I don’t have an issue with because the kids love them), but it would be great to see some more of the classic looney tunes characters more often since they are such a big part of the park3 points

If they are getting Tom and Jerry in the park, a new ride based off them would be good If MW wanted to go all out, a ride like Ratatouille in Paris, but based around Tom and Jerry would be awesome3 points

They just need something new and do some refurbishments throughout the park. A new precinct, or expansion of H20 Zone would be good. Replace Mach 5 with a couple new slides and maybe even something to replace WnW Buggy. All of the food and retail is at the front of the park, so open some new ones at the back and provide a more inviting seating spaces. They are mostly just tents, add some character to the area. Resurface some areas and definitely fix the toilets/changing rooms. Calypso Beach is my favourite part of the park. It's got some character, theme and feels like you are some where else. Take the ideas and design style and spread it through the park.2 points

^ and other's to ensure Ride Operator's are standing clear of Ride Mechanisms/moving parts. I really hope they haven't been required to add additional Passenger Restraints. The simple belt across the waist really adds to the freedom in flight sensation that this type of ride is so well known for.2 points

The Qld Govt Inspection process is frankly looking as silly now as the Facade of the former Imax/Main Street Theatre building....again DW what ARE you thinking? The attraction itself is likely a good idea, but that building [re]design...... 🤮 Safety matters, but frankly I don't see how this type of attraction, already in operation overseas, can raise so many questions. The TRR accident was terrible, DW's dirty laundry has been well-aired, but surely DW and Qld Govt have worked through numerous park expansion approvals over decades?2 points

I visited EKKA today, and was very shocked to see this ride. Of all the unbelievable stupidity, they completely failed to make any attempt to put cages on the log ride! No seat belts either. No lapbars. Absolutely nothing at all to prevent horrific accidents. I wonder how many there was this week. I will not be going to the EKKA again.1 point

Looks like the guys who redid Gumbuya World are hiring - https://www.linkedin.com/posts/picoplay_internship-picopeople-themeparks-activity-6564278817362370560-HRu6?fbclid=IwAR3SrKSiH6ef6WbQeRG1P_00dIV-LrWndpjNZENkzl-h7bfUVkD-oBszBJo1 point

Road Runner is fine. Its a great kids coaster ( kids being the keyword here). removing it would be a shame. It is themed really well and has a kick-ass run and includes a ride photo. Capacity became an issue once the seat belts were installed but this was required due to the stopping power that brake has at the end of the run. A little rattle shouldn't mean its gotta be removed. Rivals has a rattle also 😲. Better remove it.1 point

If I had to guess, I'd say it'll open in 4 months and 6 days from now. Just some numbers that came to mind.1 point

I wouldn’t say they should just remove a ride because it’s a little rough though. AA is very rough and has been for most of its life, but that’s still going1 point

Great to see the park once again bringing an original maze to the event. House of Kain was a stand out last year (even though it had some lighting issues)1 point

Put in an Action/Rapid River similar to Universal's Volcano Bay's TeAwa the Fearless River. Make it a decent length- circumnavigate the park , make it a true destination/people mover and it would be a huge people soaker and popular attraction. The Volcano Bay example was the best attraction at Volcano Bay- it was brilliant.1 point

Water coaster is a must imo... but must be different to DWs offering I’ll admit I am probably not up to date on the newest additions to the slide scene, but given neither GC water park has added anything for years, there must be some unique offerings out there, and that is important - find out what DW is offering in its new slide tower, and don’t do the same things.1 point

Because it took forever for Brogent Technologies to supply DW with the documentation WPHS required. (DW said this a while ago).1 point

Someone ask dreamworld why they just submitted . May have been slow but I bet the goal posts were also changing . Has anyone ever has experience with this ! If you had you would wait until all questions were known before responding otherwise it can take a lot more time.1 point

Ask them about rewiring an entire attraction... like I said, goal post kept being moved unnecessarily by the regulator1 point

This show wouldn’t bring people through the gates Goldie. I can’t see a 5-year-old Jonny saying take me to MW I really want to see a LT show. A filler, nothing more. If it was the Wiggles, it would be different, but kids don’t care about LT.1 point

I don't know how practical this is but maybe the part of the building where junior driving school is that's currently used for storage could be made into a Looney Tunes theatre, and feature shows several times daily with the LT characters basically doing something like a live version of a typical cartoon (obviously with appropriate scenery and props. The scenery could actually be from LT cartoons. Wouldn't be very expensive to create and would be a shaded seating area with entertainment, making it potentially even better than Dreamworlds.1 point

The highest cost for a ticket is 69 dollars on some nights. They've also given up on the Sunday nights.1 point

@Boyden Hingston-Muir maybe a DC kids themed area. * just joking anything but DC would be fine!1 point

But once again, that just won’t happen. It’s the newest attraction in the area, it’s popular, unique (moreso when you get rid of Speedy’s) and is super family friendly in that adults can ride with toddlers. It’s not on the level of LTRR by any means, but you ain’t gonna rip it out.1 point

Ok mate, we got it first time, you've done that (And pure imagination) to death now...0 points

PLEASE don't say they've cancelled the shaded seating area! It's the reason I renewed my pass this year, and I've got some friends in the UK who've promised their young kids a holiday to Australia when the shaded seating area opens. I'd hate for the kids to be disappointed.0 points

I would like movieworld to replace road runner coast with a new kids/family coaster. It’s would be great for the Tom and jerry theme0 points

Nope. DW told a lie. GCB is saying SV has now been signed off but I can't read it.0 points
