  2. Movie world visit this afternoon. straight to WWF as it’s hot & very excited to see the improved/repaired effects. meh. yes the geysers is working now, which is great, as is the water towel leak BUT - water trough at rock fall no functional - no noise effects or smoke effects at train bridge scene whatsoever - no Indian chant or any noise effects or any campfire smoke at the Indian teepee scene. So it’s probably 2 steps forward, 2 steps back. the entirety of the lift hill Is pitch black, no lantern lights anymore, which I didn’t mind tbh... went for a second ride to see if maybe I got a busted timed run, but the same until.... turned the corner into the lift hill to see the boat before us was bottomed out/stopped pre-conveyer belt that takes you to the lift chain. We rammed into it and shunted it forward onto the conveyor. It wasn’t stacked as it was the first boat released post covid wipe down (we were second). we then stopped pre-conveyor, and the boat behind us rammed us forward onto the conveyor and up we went. Rounded the corner into the station only to shunt the boat in front again as the station was stacked. Boat behind us then shunted us. At this point there were some worried rice ops, some techs, heard something about turntable one. Our boat and the one behind were evacced off the side after waiting about 10mins as we couldn’t get up to the station. Got a “ride re-admission pass” for the trouble so straight to the front of Scooby was a good reward for the experience...haha Wristbands for DC Supervillians have also been removed, which I think is poor given more than half of the interactive scenes are inaccessible due to some work going on above the Capt Cold scene, which also blocks off the Joker/Harley, Luther & Grodd scenes. The Sinestro scene is also non-functional so having to pay for a wristband that only works on 2 scenes is just crap...

  3. Brads lying @Smol bean. He just wants to keep all those sweet sweet photos showing minimal progress of paint drying to himself.

  4. When i went there back in 2016 the onboard audio worked. I can assure you now, with complete sincerity, that having Freestyler blast either side of my already concussed head certainly enhanced my experience.

  5. When people go, they'll post. Nobody is interested in holding back updates of progress. There's also a couple of facebook pages that are following these developments and construction closely (and they're normally credited when those are posted here, so try that too). You don't need to ask for updates. When people are able to share, they will.

  6. So looks like we are getting a racer and a bootleg Tornado. Also a mention of a pool (very ambiguous, no mention of waves or anything) and other associated facilities. Noice. https://www.perthnow.com.au/community-news/wanneroo-times/bullsbrook-water-park-outback-splash-planning-for-expansion-c-1335052?fbclid=IwAR0GxTZXhvjRPnhhFCaBqa4hn8uw9_utiOeE5h7fdNZ0oi9voFlSo1oUVUE

  7. Hey guys, Just stunbled across this little video on Youtube of Glenelg's former attraction Magic Mountain. I am pretty sure this has not been shared before so i thought i would proffer it here for anyone that is interested. Having not been to Adelaide before, this offers a fascinating insight into an obviously much loved former attraction. Interestingly, this was built on the same site that Luna Park Glenelg was situated on in 1930 before it was packed up and shipped to Milson's Point to become Luna Park Sydney. Nowadays it is home to a small attraction called The Beachouse. Here are some pics of when Luna Park was situated at Glenelg. For comparison, here is some images of the Beachouse, the attraction that currently resides in this spot. There were plans at some stage to expand The Beachouse with a larger water park facility but I am not sure what happened with that proposal. Seems like a great little attraction for the family by the sea. It would be great if it could be expanded in some way to increase its patronage and importance as an attraction for the town. Hopefully , one day I get to visit and have a look in person.

  9. Have found some interesting stuff on old waterparks etc. in Perth recently, and felt like sharing/asking questions so if anyone knows they can share. Left out Great Escape Hillarys because it has its own thread. First up: Armadale Aquatic centre waterslides. Opened December 1981, closed circa 2015? 3 waterslides, built by someone knows that isn't me. 'Dipper Tube and 'Corkscrew Tube' slides (see second picture) opened somewhere around 5 years before the far right and locally dubbed 'fast tube'. Note the layout of the furthest right waterslide (bottom photo) and how a 'head first only' rule was in order (see second photo). Mirrabooka Action Park Opened sometime in the 80s in and closed <1994 Consisted of two open air, identical, mirrored slides and a green tube slide in the middle. Yet another small park to be accused of having 'kids stick rasors on the inside of the slides'. Also appears to have had a Pinfari coaster of some kind for a period of time (No rcdb listings or anything) Now, my questions to the community: What is the story surrounding the coaster at Mirrabooka? Who manufactured the slides at both parks? Who manufactured the Great Escape slides? (Rumour has it Action park sold the middle slide to Great Escape. However, looking at the Mirrabooka aerial and Hillarys on Google Earth, none of the slide layouts match up, and the tube support structures on the Great Escape slides are different to those at Mirrabooka) And, if Action Park didn't sell to Great Escape, were the slides just sccrpped?

  11. Wet N Wild as a creek going through it too, blocking out a bit of land. Assume it will be treated much the same and just avoid the area.

  14. Him and his profile picture, utterly terrifying. Where is Walt leading Mickey Mouse? That is the real question, what is Walt going to do to him? I agree with Mr. Bean.

  18. I haven't been on it. But maybe try having a look on YouTube for a video of the ride with the lights on. I know Theme Park Review has done one. So you can expect what the track is. I know this video isn't the newest, but I think the track route is still the same after the renovation. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  19. It's Gas. Spin around and have a look at the signs either side of the road. https://www.google.com/maps/@-31.6543134,115.9567202,3a,15y,1.66h,81.52t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sRumQf4oDYS7HIPS_DvfBmA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 The saucers/saws on these slides literally do nothing other than look interesting. They're about as useful as the top half of a Tornado. That said, they don't use much additional fibreglass according to a Proslide rep I've spoken to, since all you are doing is "unrolling" the top of what would otherwise be an enclosed slide.

  20. Showing your age there bucko. Most of the kids who frequent these boards would have no idea of the origins of that line. That movie is 21 years old... feel old yet? I do.

  21. @Aw hype they can’t build any attractions in the easement I have highlighted in blue. but they can build on the other side off it. With this plan comes the earlier application with a new entrance gate walking into the new pool area.

  24. I think it’s a big stretch to say this means the theme park licensing will end. Film distribution has alternatives and they are streamlining their model. Where as the theme parks licensing is a completely separate beast onto itself.

  28. Whilst the license deal for the Theme park business remains intact, Village Roadshow and Warner Brothers have split after 40+ years together. On the Dark Horizons website , Garth is reporting : "After numerous decades together, Warner Bros. Pictures and Roadshow Films are severing ties – at least on the film front according to Variety. The Australian distributor, which basically has handled almost all Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line releases in Australia and New Zealand for over four decades, was notified that its current contract to handle the theatrical releases of Warner titles will not be renewed beyond its expiry at the end of December. Roadshow Films’ parent company Village Roadshow Limited announced the shift in a Monday filing to the Australian Stock Exchange. Theatrical distribution of Warner’s films in the region are instead expected to be handled by Universal Pictures from the beginning of 2021, including titles such as Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”. The end of this partnership is part of a much larger reshuffle and realignment going on within WarnerMedia group as it streamlines its various divisions, eliminates production capacity and puts greater emphasis on its HBO Max service. The separate home entertainment distribution contract also expires in December, but Roadshow hasn’t indicated if they’ve received notice of that cancellation as well. The license deal between Roadshow and Warner Bros. in the theme parks business, which includes the Warner Bros. Movie World theme park on the Gold Coast, remains intact. In its filing, Roadshow’s owner Village Roadshow Ltd. went to great lengths to indicate Warners theatrical releases had little impact of Village’s bottom line this past year and they do “not anticipate that any material impairment or write down of assets will arise as a result of the expiry”. Roadshow Films currently has other supply arrangements with STX, FilmNation and Village Roadshow Picture" This does beg the question just how long does this licensing deal have left between the them park division and Warner Brothers? It is reasonable to assume that given the split in the distribution deal, it is highly probable that after the licensing deal for the them park divsion expires it potentially may not be renewed. In this case , a rebranding and a rename will definitely be on the cards. I guess there will be more to come of this - stay tuned for the further details.
