They had a drone show in the carpark so it's probably just a temporary setup for the event

There was staging lights they were temp . The ones in tunnel have been there for months . They have a lighting issue and this appears there solution . Would be silly to buy and install lights in this way for one event .

It looks temporary probably because it is. Through the many discussions I’ve had with park management in recent years, they don’t like doing this half assed, and if things don’t look up to scratch to us, then the park will probably agree and will be working on something more permanent when they have the resources and money to do so.

I sense this was directed .

Small win in the tunnel . I’m so glad the others are gone. Jaggs is not always reliable but he said that with confidence they were permanent.

The tunnel where they remain I think resemble the issue with the park . The theming is very very patchy everywhere . Still a lot of work to be done before even get to what a theme park should be .

Yeah that's fair. It's clear the park is slowly modernising \ refurbishing every section of the park but it does take time... and unlike other parks nearby - I can see that they're actively working on stuff so i'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt that something that looks a bit shitty is going to be temporary, and eventually rectified.

Care of DW Golden Years FB.

queue rails have been installed in JR to separate the single rider/ride express queue from the general standby queue.

whilst it’s good to have these separated (asking to push through/pass people when you had an express pass wasnt exactly great and usually copped you some scorned looks like you were queue jumping), because they are obviously a post-design change, they look pretty horrible to me and wreck what was theme wise a fantastic queue.

maybe a more neutral colour or something more akin to the walls would have worked better than what they went with

Agree Brad - after all the care taken to craft 'bamboo' poles this just feels out of place.

Perhaps they could wrap the corners in a hemp rope to soften the look, or paint the poles a mottled pattern to blend into the temple more?

Initially I was like, "wtf are you talking about who gives a shit about what color a metal queue fence is in a ride, DisneySea has plenty of metal queue fences and nobody bitches about it". But then I remembered it's not about adding "hemp rope" or ridiculously innate things to a queue fence to make it seamless, it just needs to be a consistent colour.

DisneySea; 'Journey To The Center Of The Earth' no need for stupid things like hemp rope corners, just colour it similar (or complimentary) to the walls, I mean heck, even green would have been a more fitting choice!

See I disagree here - Journey's queue rails fit precisely into the theme. the whole queue area is a mass of pipes and fittings. And the queue rails you show here match that aesthetic perfectly - the joints in the pipe are also treated so they present in a different colour, akin to how copper piping used to be brazed with zinc for plumbing.

Disney customises their queue rails for each and every attraction. It's not about it being metal, it's about how it suits the location. Here's a few other examples from DisneySea

The suggestion for rope was derived from the queueline further down that already utilises this technique, thereby tying the two (no pun intended) together. Don't get me wrong I would have preferred they got PICO back in to add further 'bamboo look' rails like the ones they already have, but if this is what they're going with - the rope would tie it all together.
