I hadn't considered that, but it makes sense as that gate is where all the food trucks enter from.

The gates were blocked off for most of Winterfest, but I believe they just went to the effort of moving equipment and fencing during this time so the night markets could still operate during the school holidays.

Early November shooting is only 3 months away. Surely we'll be seeing some construction soon if not already?

Drove past the Beattie Rd boundary (graveyard, monster truck location) and they had installed a new fence along that perimeter and could see heavy machinery operating over the top of the fence so likely clearing and levelling the land

Seems was that simple .

That was always a simple option, the fibre runs from the old house were far far longer.

I think the part that was always in question was more the size of the building, and the free areas next to it. A production of this scale is going to require multiple OB trucks, ancillary buildings for production teams and so on. There isn't really any space for any of that around the DEC.

It would've made far more sense to have had the house in the expansion plot next to WWW, all of the support around that space, with the live shows being held within the DEC space. It all feels very backwards.

I do find it weird placing the house in the main entertainment venue, they keep talking on the socials about how it’s going back to original format. So I’m unsure where they will do the live show,

I wonder what they put the BB house in the entertainment centre rather then the old thunderbolt building which would still have its amenities, closer to the out door area, access from the back and would give access to the blue roller coaster

Building seating and a live show stage (and probably a live production/circus tent for weather) is much easier than a whole foundation/house. They could easily build that on the expansion land in a week for live shows and if they go down the 'friday night games' route I'm sure knocking up a few temp walls and throwing down some fake grass doesn't take long either.

If Gold Coaster is shut down, there is a significant amount of free space underneath the coaster for production trucks and such.

I do agree, but as we've concluded, this feels like it's very last minute. Getting a building approval to construct the house on that plot would have taken time. Constructing a set inside an existing structure requires no such approvals, while support buildings in demountable or truck trailers can roll in and plug in..

As has been suggested, perhaps this is the plan for this year while they formulate a longer term plan.

Why can't the production team take up the other half of the shed?

The original BB building was 700sqm.  The current DW building is 1500sqm.

More spaces means more areas to gossip which leads to more drama. Additionally in prior seaons they sometimes have had a 'second house' or just straight up might not use the entire area.

Love Island villas these days start at 1500sqm and the recent Love Island USA villa was closer to 2500 sqm. not sure how relevant that is, but a sign of things increasing I guess.

Wouldn't cutting the shed into 2 give production its own space?

Most of the production will be done from purpose built OB trucks, which do not fit within the building anyway. Sure you will have spaces for the production team on the ground, most likely your camera department, and possibly some producers, but everything else will be from trucks.

Eviction shows maybe, but the house has traditionally been flyaway.
