Parkz News 336 Report post Posted December 1, 2017 No more locker hire fees on Superman Escape at Movie World It's been perhaps one of the most disliked things at Movie World since the ride opened in 2005, but as of this week it's gone: no more one-hour locker hire fees for Superman Escape. joz 2,287 Report post Posted December 2, 2017 What I don't understand with the above is why you need to put your wallet and keys anywhere? Just leave them in your pocket you weirdo. I wonder if there's a way of re-jigging that area to stop people abusing the lockers?

yaark 24 Report post Posted December 2, 2017 So how does the payment work if you have been stuck in queue for over an hour? Do you have to pay before you can open the locker? If so, how do you pay when your wallet and loose items are in the locker? If you can open the locker without paying after the 1 hour limit, whats to prevent patrons from taking their items and leaving without paying? Silly question probably, just wondered how you would get your stuff out of the locker in that situation. Or do you pay an initial locker deposit which is refunded if locker hire is closed within the first hour?

As has been mentioned elsewhere, in the past where you've exceeded your time they unlock using an admin key and then you either pay or they escort you to the shop to pay. You can't access your locker after the timelimit. In addition, where queue times have exceeded the locker times, they've generally extended the locker hire time free of charge. yaark 24 Report post Posted December 3, 2017 (edited) Thanks AlexB. I have never had to hire the lockers, so was just curious what the procedure was to retrieve your items. Edited December 3, 2017 by yaark
pushbutton 972 Report post Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) If $2 for the Superman lockers was annoying, I can't be the only one who absolutely detests paying $10 for a locker every time I go to Wet & Wild! If the lockers were free, or at least much cheaper, I'd go a lot more often, and I'd be very likely to buy a drink or snack / lunch while I'm there. As it is I never buy these after spending my spare cash on a locker. Edited December 4, 2017 by pushbutton

Nah mate. The way me and the misses look at wet'n'wild lockers' $10 bucks to keep $2000+ in phones, wallet/purse's and car key's locked up for a hole day we see is pretty good value.

Well I don't, and part of the reason is I'm often not there for a whole day. Usually only for a couple of hours, then I might go to Movie World. If it's free for one hour for Superman, it can be free for a few hours at Wet & Wild. It's not as if it costs much to operate and maintain them, and even if it did they are part of the park. I don't pay a separate fee to walk on the paths because they need maintenance. The funds just come out of general revenue, which comes from the price of tickets and passes, as well as food and merchandise.
Brad2912 2,948 Report post Posted December 4, 2017 Don’t have an issue with paid lockers at water parks. You don’t have an option to keep your valuables on you for parts of the day. If you don’t want to pay for lockers, bring a backpack and put everything in it and leave it on a chair with a towel over it. It’s a risk, but a small one. I’ve never had anything stolen from a backpack at a water park in my 18+ years of visiting them
iwerks 806 Report post Posted December 4, 2017 Some water parks have smaller lockers for a lesser price. I think SW should get more of its transportation rides back, whether it's a miniature train, gondola, autopia or boat ride.

Frequently during peak periods, there are banks of lockers that are sold out. Unlike dry parks - almost every guest visiting a water park wants to be able to secure their valuables so that they can swim. If they were free, then those people who do stash their stuff in their shoe \ backpack etc would likely take up the free locker option. Then you'd be on here complaining that there aren't enough lockers. (Because, of course you would).

AlexB 4,332 Report post Posted December 5, 2017 So you want them to BUY MORE LOCKERS and then you want them to REDUCE THE PRICE TO USE THEM? Is this making sense to ANYBODY ELSE???

Skeeta 2,741 Report post Posted December 5, 2017 Either that or put his big boy paints on. The cry baby crap is annoying. I don’t mind paying to keep my things safe and secure at a water park. It would be great if I could fit a small child in a locker too.
