  4. How so? They installed safety fences at a rail crossing, they are actively repainting their rides and performing maintenance on their water rides during this winter and they left a sticker on the ground from an event that technically ended a few days ago, but it's still technically winter, so the photo ops are at least still relevant

  5. it was actually a lot harder than i expected to find a spot to photograph. the fences and the trees dont help! train wasnt running today so I couldnt use that. alright so let me explain these photos for a second. this photo is the "office" area as far as i'm aware. this is the main amphitheatre which I couldn't get a proper picture of. best view of what's happening is on GD at the moment. a digger was ripping chunks off when I saw it earlier.

  6. ...or the park noticed some people were aligning the maintenance dates with school holidays and clueing on to what they were doing, and they thought better of it *wishful thinking* ...And Enthusiasts will too.

  8. ^Yeah, look.... "citation needed" - but there's a reason Disney always exits you through a gift shop, and that's also the reason why many of our parks have shops at exits. Its a proven formula. Low attendance and low revenues put pressure on department heads to cut costs, and saving on staffing by having less shops open is a no-brainer - but that doesn't mean those shops don't make money when they're open. As for superman, it was always a stupid idea to exit through a gift shop when you don't permit loose articles... unless you come back through the locker room first. stupid design decried from day one.

  20. Movie world did the same with superman, maybe with Scooby doo. Saving money as not many people buy Souvenirs just after riding a ride

  21. I think the cowboy attitude of the 1980's is well and truly behind us. I very much doubt they'd be permitted to do anything that destructive to the forest, and its a low capacity attraction that doesn't fit the Scenic World model these days.

  22. They did have a 60% clearance on that stores merch recently, so I’d say it’s no more

  23. Walls have gone up in Dodgems, so don’t be expecting anymore photos of the maze taking place unless someone decides it is a great idea to put a selfie stick over the wall Entrance for Dodgems has also been spilt with walls placed in between of where you could walk into the attraction so the entrance and exit could be different this year

  24. I wasn’t referring to the inquest findings but the issues found when they did one of numerous audits when the park was closed. I’ve found the article however, thanks. Green Room Waterslide — the "Emergency Stop" button's colour is faded and the label contains the manufacturer's ride name not WhiteWater World's name. WhiteWater World is required to submit a Chemical Register to notify WHSQ of storage of hazardous chemicals. The Flowrider ride requires an updated chemical log book. Staff working on the Flowrider are required to use upgraded Personal Protective Equipment (respiratory masks) when adding pool chemicals and should be trained in how to use the new masks. A Flowrider plastic mat connection contained a sharp edge and was a potential scratch hazard. Dreamworld has repaired this. Dreamworld requires durable tags for all electrical equipment/tools ("tag and test" tags). A maintenance staff member working on the Escape from Madagascar ride did not comply with "work at heights" requirements.

  25. Unlike some gates in Perth, construction continues at Outback Splash. The staircase is progressing nicely on the Polin Waterpark’s slide tower. The park is looking nice; although the original water playground could do with a repaint. The Outback Snack’s kiosk now has a verandah. There’s a $5 mega sale of the park’s merchandise too.

  28. You're absolutely right. One that really grates me is Mick Doohan in the bush setting and not up the end in the Ocean Parade area. Breaks my heart too that the whole Australian bush theme was destroyed with the vintage cars moving, the paddle wheeler closing and the unique bushranger show gone. Hate that ABC / Wiggles is squished into where it is too. All that should be in the larger kids area in Madagascar. On that, Pandamonium is out of place there. It should be up in Ocean Parade too. The massive waterfall off the Wipeout Wave was awesome but didn't last long after opening. And the list goes on! Dreamworld used to have tightly themed areas, and space between those themed areas, adding a sense of leaving one / arriving at a distinctive place. Now's it just one big shopping mall where every spare space had a kiosk added. If Dreamworld were a Westfield, we've got a butcher next to a clothes shop and dentist next to a fruit shop. The really sad part is that there is just no practical way to ever fix these poor decisions and lack of planning and vision #fml Ps I also hate that ToT runs through the park, killing the vibe and tranquility of Every. Other. Area. Pss Hated Buzzsaw being added to Goldrush... never felt right. I guess they wanted something to advertise to the carpark and highway but by doing so they disrespected the park further. Buzzsaw should have had a different theme and been up in Ocean Parade too. The old Thunderbolt area could have been nicely filled and themed.
