@pushbutton can you please leave the shaded seating area joke alone. We get it. It’s just not funny anymore. Thanks6 points

Just a small update for Luna Park Melbourne. The Zamperla powered family coaster, Silly Serpent has been retired from the park for good. It has been replaced on its site by the SBF Visa family coaster Speedy Beetle. This was originally located on the old Metropolis coaster site since its introduction to the park late last year. It was discussed at the time whether the Speedy Beetle was intended to be the Silly Serpent's eventual successor, given its age. The park has intimated that their will be announcements soon on new rides that will be coming to the park. Fingers crossed that they finally get a decent second coaster to replace the old Metropolis. There is a good amount of space to work with here and they could certainly fit in any number of smaller compact coasters- think Gerstlauer , Maurer , S & S or Zamperla. Above is an older aerial pic of the park with the Metropolis still in place- ( a Pinfari model Zyklon) This area is a substantial bit of LPM's real estate and its high time that the park invested in a ride to fill this space and maximise its full potential. Of course this should only be the start of some targeted , real investment into the park, which , has been sorely lacking for quite a while. Of course the heritage rides such as the Scenic Railway, the Ghost Train and the Carousel are all expensive attractions to maintain ( and SHOULD be retained) but there are many filler attractions that need replacing. With LPS now having the roadblocks removed for their own $20 million dollar ride investment, its time that Lindsey Fox, as the owner of LPM, lives up to his promise to restore the park to its former glory, when he stated when he purchased the park in 2005.6 points

Zombieland: Double Tap has been revealed as one of the new mazes! The trailer for this maze looks awesome!3 points

More people through the gate means more money spent. Cabanas are what you'll see the families and groups of friends use. I don't know if the park would be a whole day park yet. Add a lazy river and then you got yourself an all-day water park I reckon. Flow riders are self-contained units. Upgrade to a bigger model that allows more people on safely (the barrel model is perfect). Won't lie that WnW kinda just has it over WWW, but then all you have to do it remember how easy it is to get from WWW to DW and you got yourself a winner. Then you can finally fix up the gate issues at the old Thunderbolt station.2 points

^This. The added flow on impacts Wet N Wild too - they went with 'biggest and best' when WWW came along, and WWW has never really challenged that. Now, i'm not saying 6 new body slides is going to change that (unless WnW keep removing things), but continued investment at WWW should kick VRTP in the ass that they've ignored WnW GC for far too long, and we may again see a tit-for-tat construction war like we used to see more than a decade ago. The activity at WWW is positive news for both camps... and a plus for enthusiasts all round.2 points

Great video and a fantastic line-up! Here's hoping it picks up a little bit later in the show, seems to be pretty quiet down there today.2 points

But if he came crying to you post decapitation, surely that would at least get your attention?1 point

That is how I read it but it is still not the best wording. Never thought of it like that but it could be what they meant though it still needs better wording. It could even be implying when maintenance is done, there will be "More Dreamworld happiness" but again, it is still not the best wording.1 point
-
I think its more of a case of 'you can't ride this, but around the corner are other things you can'1 point
-
In my opinion, that's not the best worded fence signage. 'Buzzsaw is currently under maintenance. More Dreamworld happiness is just around the corner'? If Buzzsaw under maintenance is their idea of 'Dreamworld happiness', I wouldn't want to pay for a ticket just around the corner either. 😋1 point

and imagine how incredible that space would be if it had seating too!1 point

Is it just me or is it that because these single-rail coasters lack a track design with cross-hatching/ties underneath that it's all but impossible to figure out relative speed and almost looks un-natural?1 point

This is such a win for WhiteWater World - they've had great quality slides but not enough quantity which is where Wet 'n' Wild has had them beat. With this new slide tower, they're effectively padding out more of the day with things to do, all the while soaking up those summer crowds. The roll-on effect here is that with more crowd-soakers there'll be more justification for punters to hire up-sells like cabanas and ultimately spend the whole day there. Ideally WhiteWater World's next investment could be a simple lazy river with a newer Flowrider Barrel integration - it's another up-sell opportunity (and a great justification to demolish the existing one that's in Ocean Parade and better integrate the gate between parks) and with enough pleasant, grassy, shaded space, they'd have yet another crowd soaker that really would really muddy the water as to who has the better waterpark.1 point

It could be that Buzzsaw is just under maintenance, but it looks like the beginning of something far more exciting to me!1 point

Until you have a regular, public load cycling through from open to close daily, you can't predict some issues. The test runs prior to opening won't have loaded the equipment to the same level for the same period of time - so it is still a 'brand new ride opening'. It's not like there were dozens of test riders cycling the ride daily for the past 8 months...1 point
-
Tech issues for a brand new ride opening I could understand. But 8 month late opening tech issues when the delay wasn't even ride related. 🤔1 point

which WWW had drawn criticism for being previously.) 100% it will soak up the crowds, plus hose occasional single riders. This is a welcomes addition. Swimplex has been going good. From local aquatic centres to caravan parks and now its first big theme park. Might be the start of a new relationship. Given Swimplex are also the Australian distributors for Murtha pools, who make wave pools and lazy rivers.1 point

Look @pushbutton all the shit you have been hanging on DW wanting to add shade sails and Village prove it's onto a winner with it's full year results. "Wet’n’Wild maintained its popularity as a successful summer branding campaign drove solid attendance through December and new shade over Wet’n’Wild Junior also improved the guest experience in this area".1 point

Hey guys...this is GeorgeT from Germany again...I took part in the discussion when DC Rivals was being build. You know what? I am a little surprised that there are so little positive let alone raving reactions about the spinning car. As a regular visitor of Europa Park even after hundreds of rides on Blue Fire I still enjoy that coaster a lot. Even without a spinning feature. And yes, I know that it`s not everybodys cup of tea when a coaster car is spinning...but I really do think that riding Blue Fire in a spinning car will be one of the best coaster experinces on the planet for those who`re not getting too dizzy from it. I can`t even describe how jealous I am that you are getting that feature while our Blue Fire version stays normal...so, can I see some more excitement please? 😀1 point

Awesome article Parkz and great to read a full break down of the rides elements and what makes it so unique1 point

Cool... I’m wrong. Have no problem with being wrong either. Guess I have/had lower expectations. All my rides all screens have worked, the only time people used phones in the pre-show room was when we were held up there for 10mins on opening day, but none used them during the actual video. Both times we were encouraged to sit or be comfortable whilst watching the video. Both rides the dots on the floor were explained by the attendant, as were the loose items storage, prior to letting us into the ride area. There is clearly some gaps in training between staff. Hopefully most people enjoy it for what it is.1 point

I gotta say I'm pretty disappointed with these updates. I understand why they can't upgrade significantly given the expensive upkeep for their older rides but what they're doing now doesn't really change the fact that LPM is piss weak in it's current state. At least LPS is trying harder, despite some hurdles.1 point

Indeed it's not. The fact we came up with several interpretations proves that. Unless it's Ardents new way to avoid future "ambitious" annoucements (by just not actually announcing anything and being very ambiguous instead)! Had they had this policy a year ago, the announcement that "Sky Voyager will open on Boxing Day" might have been something like "You can't watch a Dreamworks cartoon in the cinema, but your time to fly may be festive"0 points

No I can't read. I just saw pictures of Buzzsaw on the fence and thought it looked exciting.0 points

Just announced the Slide Wheel will be joining the lineup of water slides at WNW GC hopefully by summer holidays 2019/20200 points

Yes maybe, but it completely misses the whole point of the show, which is that it's a train robbery!0 points

I'm sorry to say that even though the train is back up and running, for some reason they're still attempting to do the Bawd Brothers show at Central Station. Absolutely pathetic!0 points
