  1. I'm not a massive fan of the ride, but I must admit I like really like how the area around it has grown and how it feels like it belongs now. It's neat that the area has filled in, and there's some nice creative elements that make the coaster feel at home in a way it really didn't when it was built. The water slide tower in the middle of the helix being the obvious pinnacle. I agree it should nowt have been the signature coaster for 20 years, but I like how the area has grown to make it fit in. Seriously when it was built you could really tell that the ride wasn't meant for where it was built. 100% a terrain coaster, and as much as it was a good pickup at the time, in the early days it really stuck out in a bad way and didn't fit at all. These days with the way they've built around it it fits in like it's meant to be there. I love when different rides interact, I think it makes things so much cooler. I mean there's nothing exciting about the placement of GL or Arkham, but Corkscrew dove under the monorail track, and it really added something, particularly when you were on it and there was a train going through. The same would be true if they'd stuck with the original plan of putting a ride in Superman's helix. If I had to put it in marketing terms that our parks could understand I'd say 'The proximity of different attractions in any one precinct provides for world class, dynamic interaction, enhancing the experience and providing for organic iconic promotional hero images, and instagramable moments for guests to share, assisting in the creation of sharable viral content. World class. *orgasm noises*'.

  2. GL next to Rivals does look fantastic but until Rivals was built, it looked like they had just left a coaster out on the curb for council collection.

  3. Dreamworld has released a new POV of the new coaster.

  4. Hence why I raised it in my post. Allowing a private communication to stay published publicly on this forum doesn’t lend itself to parks being open and engaging.

  5. We've been asked by VRTP to delete that screenshot. I'm sure most of you appreciate the recent hands-on approach they've taken with this community so let's leave it as a "you can't have your cake and eat it too" situation and move on.

  6. Zac, I don’t need a media conference anymore, neither am I here to pitch VRTP but am here to contribute in a constructive manner. The guidelines set by the owners of this forum needs to be abided by, I am happy to offer views on things but I cannot be seen here just promoting VRTp. I am working with the owners of this forum to have a Q&A down the track where I can take appropriate questions. Please also remember that I cannot talk about certain things as they are commercial in confidence and unfortunately everyone will have to accept that. All the best...

  9. You got to remember that Trolls is targeting a very much younger demographic (4-8 year olds) than you, and never was going to attract teens and adults like most of the demographic on this forum unless they have kids on their own. 5-8yr old me would probably be going insane with what they had to offer being able to dress up as a troll, making your own cupcakes, a shop, shows and the funhouse and meet Poppy and Branch. While I have no interest in the Trolls property, but with what all four parties (Sudden Impact Entertainment, DW, Dreamworks and Universal) came up with, it was definitely more than anyone could have asked on, just quite unfortunate it's stay at the park wasn't long enough.

  10. I understand what you’re getting at and I respect your opinion. But Like the main ride if you could even call it that was a cheap carnival ride coated with trolls theming. And in my opinion the only good part of the whole place was the statues they looked pretty high quality for dreamworld. Well i guess it looked high quality because universals quality control

  11. For what it was I think the trolls Village was very well executed tbh...

  12. I don't think anyone said GL was well implemented. I believe what was said was that it looks fantastic now that Rivals is there. Mainly because it doesn't look like a curb coaster and from the motorway, the two of them look much better and more exciting than just GL.

  13. Green Lantern, that was just plonked out the front of the park, and doesn't even have it's own bridge across the creek to it and whose exit path haphazardly uses the main entry bridge is well integrated because there's a coaster next to it which totally dwarfs it? I mean you do you, but I think if you think GL is well implemented you're wrong.

  14. Agree - employees are contractually obligated not to disclose certain behind the scenes goings on, but I know Mr Luke Carroll doesn't work for the park, so how he got it, we don't know, but its out.

  15. As the old saying goes assume anything you post on the internet as public and don't post what you wouldn't want to be seen by just anyone. Also agree with the above "Yes".

  17. Should people really be sharing posts from private, employee only Facebook groups on the forums? and who is to say this person (whose name is redacted) is telling the truth? I would take it with a grain of salt like anything else you hear..

  18. Haha. So all the news reports were just out right lies. 😆 Wonder what happened when the government got wind of it. The purchase offer of extra money for shares if the park is open and people are back to work seems to be a strong motivator. edit: heres the original news report.

  19. Are they intending to have the colour scheme match the water slide bellow it?

  21. Honestly you grab a Ferris slide wheel which would be a big gimmick slide (draw in crowds) then add a few major proslide rides: a massive water coaster from Proslide something the size of Mammoth or Wilderbeast at holiday world. Then follow it up with a slide tower with 3 major Proslide’s (a UFO slide, a Tornado alley, Bowl Alley and tornado wall as nobody on the GC has one yet) Make them all ProSlide records longest, tallest of their kinds. All of those slides with the current line up would do wonders for the parks

  23. Protip, you are better off looking at the RAL colour charts. Mack (and Intamin for that matter) use them, not Pantone.

  24. At the time though I think everyone was pretty happy that the coaster wasn't going to be scrapped, since most of us hadn't had the chance to ride it. And despite not really fitting the site, the bargain for a full sized coaster available immediately would be too good to pass up. This all said, would you even call it a terrain coaster? https://rcdb.com/1141.htm#p=3629 It seemed like it was mostly at the bottom of the cliff and didn't really use the cliff to have a drop over the edge like this: https://rcdb.com/11663.htm#p=99507 Edit: Literally never noticed till now the faux mountain facade at the front of the ride. Impressive stuff.

  25. To fit the theme of Dreamworld, I reckon that DW should repaint Mick doohan and Sidewinder to Orange too
