I wouldn't be placing a bet on an announcement of a new coaster.

Ik it wont be but if it was them remaking the Tower Of Terror just cause the towers involved I will be over the moon. I just hope its not BB

Won’t be a new ride, not while king claw is actively going up. That will come later when dreamworld need to drum up annual pass renewals.

Really hope that it’s not big brother. Lot of capex to rebuild facilities that you pulled down a few years ago. What if the show doesn’t get ratings and is cancelled after a couple of seasons like the last few attempts and you’re back at the 2018 status quo?

A paid experience to climb up the giant drop tower would be very cool.

DW wouldn't pay for it. the production company would build it.

I don’t really think it’ll be a tower climb either, it’s a nearly 400 ft tower with ladders and stairs + barely any air ventilation, i genuinely would put more money towards it being a new coaster compared to it being a tower climb.

they did just post a tik tok about giant drop, I wonder if we could be seeing one side of it turned into a Falcons Fury like ride vehicle.

Seems plausible.  Gives a new, highly marketable ride experience for minimal spend.

Or, if we're just speculating on fun ideas, it could be a conversion to a Gyro Drop with a 10m height extension to the tower to make it the world's tallest - increasing capacity, giving 360 degree views, new control panels and ride machinery, 50% tilting seats.

So.  They say in the insta posts

"Hold on tight, something massive is coming to Dreamworld" and then use a 🎢 emoji.

And the other one video specifically talking about it being 119 meters.

Big brother is "BIG", not "massive" and has nothing to do with 119 meter tower.

So yeah I guess a ride to be announced.

The face down upgrade to GD, an observation tower or if I could dream....

A Top Thrill 2 coaster launching from old TOT station, top hat the tower and go down into the area of the old river town and out to where the old vintage cars were and return.    Retiring Gold coaster in the process.  🛌💭 🤣🤞

Imagine if Dreamworld just suprises the hell out of everyone and announces southern hemispheres first giga coaster out of nowhere.

we wake up in the morning to the worlds tallest and fastest B&M Giga being announced, they were teasing on top of the giant drop before the tower itself is actually going to be used as a support for the rides lift hill.

Seems a really weird time to announce a new coaster… they are mid-construction of KC so really don’t need to drive the hype train right now with anything that would supplant interest in KC and completely overshadow it.

Apart from a coaster emoji, nothing points logically to it being a coaster

my guess is they used that emoji as it also means “ride” in general.

Either a new ride gondola for GD, or they are pumping the height up to get the record back but that seems like a high capex cost for little return.

I hope it's not a modification to GD itself the 360-degree gyro designs do look good but from what i heard its less intense then the version they have now.

Much as I love for this to be a coaster announcement, just quietly it would be awesome if the 400+ foot spinning coaster that was going to go to Six Flags Great Adventure as the Kingda Ka replacement ended up at Dreamworld because of all the enthusiast backlash against its replacement and was just using the Dreamworld tower as its main support. Obviously that's not going to happen and while my Number 1 coaster that incorporates the Dreamworld tower would be a vertical drop coaster by B&M that goes 75 degrees up the left side of the tower from the land the Log Ride used to occupy and then drop vertically down the tower on the right side where Tower of Terror used to travel along. With the height of the tower this could make for the first strata-B&M/vertical drop coaster and blow away most of what's happening in the states. But yeah, I'm a dreamer, and this ain't gonna happen, realistically this'll be an expansion to the Giant Drop, with drops being put on all sides of the tower so it's a four-sided drop tower and the roller coaster emoji is just because the social team doesn't know the difference between a coaster and a flat ride.

I wouldn’t read into the use of that emoji too much because if you look at all of their content, they regularly use it purely because they’re a theme park. They even use a Ferris wheel in one post, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting one.

That's paid for by the production company. All DW has to do is provide the land, which is most likely rented \ leased for the production, so DW profit either way and there is no capital expenditure on their behalf unless the facilities are mutually beneficial.

I know it's just fun speculation, but no way they do this like 2 years after they fully refurbished it.

I think you're forgetting the swing launch requires a spike somewhere in the vicinity of tiger island.

I know this makes the most sense, but KC is also a one-for-one replacement. it's an upgrade, sure - but it's still just a replacement. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to one-two punch the lineup with a second big attraction - but again, highly unlikely.

There aren't that many drop tower emojis available. how many thrill ride emojis are there?

The word BIG is also DW's new goto word.

Is it? is it their new word?

I don't see it in any of the posts capped above, and other than this recent campaign we're all discussion I haven't seen them use it since the 'biggest pass' promo. Prior to that they used it for years with 'big 4\5\6\7\8\9 thrill rides' - so i'm not sure if it's their new word, or even if it's their current "goto"...

maybe “$99 pass” is code for “giga on the way”…

they did tease “something bigger is coming” so maybe that’s teasing a new addition, or maybe just a new deal, who knows.
