  6. So with the official announcement about the Hyper due to be made public at noon today... who's excited??? 😁 About time, I say! ☺️👍

  7. Channel 7 Sydney had coverage of the hypercoaster and played footage of @docoaster's render 😆

  8. Id like to see them continue the theming that they have shown on the top of the lift hill throughout more parts of the coaster. Similar maybe to what Bizarro SFNE has, I think Movie World are extremely capable of pulling off some decent theming in this style to create a storyline that stretches past the station and through the coaster.

  9. Plus 2nd row from back is still close enough to have essentially identical forces if you want a traditional airtime experience.

  10. Not Tiger Island stage 2 related here but I saw this when I was at the park yesterday

  11. So, I've spread this out into different parts to make it easier to understand (hopefully) So, as you can see, Batwing and Justice League are to the right of the image, because they are closer to superman escape. The shed that has "What is this" above it, seems to be a themed area, as it is not in the park already. In this screen shot, you can clearly see what seems to be a queue, and if you follow it under the track, it goes toward that lovely shed I mentioned before.

  12. Here is some aerial footage of the construction so far. You actually get a sense of the scale of it. Superman looks tiny in the background.

  13. Personally I love the DC Rivals name. I think it's very official, easy to remember and summarises the coaster's overall theme very well, especially since they have had to work with what they originally had organised (ie. Suicide Squad themed). Its a first class name for a first class coaster 👍 And I definitely think they have made a great choice avoiding making it a "Bizarro" themed coaster. Thank God for that - sorry to those of you who were convinced that's what it would be, but really would have been a terribly obscure theme to run with 😮😑

  14. Yeah I agree, I think the topic should be reopened as well. And meh, if you watch my live video on my blog when I first saw the track colour in person, I did refer to it as fucshia. It was the colour ID website thingy that added the 'pink' bit (no pun intended) lol. So I still called it and I intend to gloat over at least getting that part right haha 😜

  15. Very excited for those backwards seats, my only apprehension is now the back will probably be as desirable as the front If I'm reading the station plans correctly the back seats might have a dedicated queue line, hopefully not too much extra wait time. On that note... DOH! It was staring us in the face the whole time. At the time of posting I chuckled smugly thinking 'heh, someone drew the train backwards!' Little did I expect that would be one of the most important details in the station plans!

  16. There's always SeaVip....oh, ok, well then, why not Vikin....ah, umm, there's always the Pirate.....shit. Ok, how about taking a nice trip on the Sky Wa...... ok never mind.

  17. There are - you can see these at the end of the main preview video. 'Solid' is an understatement; I'd go with VRTP's 'gamechanging'.

  18. Looking into capacity of the ride. Confirmed ride time is approx 170 sec or 2.8 minutes (from movieworld FB page. Someone asked, MW responded). From the teaser video, you can see each train holds 22 passengers. So if 2 trains are running, and you are loading train #2 whilst train #1 is in motion, you have approx. 3 mins to unload/load train #2 before #1 gets back. If you run the ride perfectly (without stacking) you could be sending a train out every 3 minutes. Therefore, 60/3mins = 20, 20*22 passengers = 440pph.

  19. I dont. If you look at the station at the bottom, you will notice a lovely building right next to it.

  20. Looks like they've managed to sneak in a third bunny hill just before the break run. The shadow shows that the track dips down to the ground before the jump in to brakes. Nice collection of airtime hills to finish off the ride!

  21. Forgive me if this has already been answered/discussed, does anyone else think the backwards car will be an up charge? It's one thing to queue for the front when the rest of the train is facing forward anyway, but backwards is a totally different experience. At 2 pax a train queues would be enormous on even a moderate day. Regardless - really stunning layout. This will be Australia's first true airtime machine.

  23. but they did say 'not pink'... I think the admin team here have jumped the gun. Closing the speculation thread means we can't now discuss the previous speculation within the same thread.

  24. As I understand it its being done the same way as the GL sign. We've heard previously the GL sign is actually a custom screen, so it could be animated \ altered. Looking at the joker face - the mouth part itself is a solid piece - which suggests to me a clever dick in the design department might just have plans to make the mouth move... You started it by pointing out flaws on a website (which is also not an English class). Are you pot, or kettle? And no, it isn't English class. Usually by the time you get to a point where you can navigate the internet unsupervised, you'd expect to have graduated from English class.

  27. So (one of) the original Batman VS Joker name sounded so much better IMO. "DC Rivals Hypercoaster" can be summed up pretty well with this.....

  29. For starters, I'm not sure why everyone is getting hung up on an MCBR. None of the Intamin Hypers use them, and Millennium Force is the only one that runs three due to having a separate unload. Secondly, if the ride time is 3 mins, then the dispatch interval cannot be 3 mins because you'd end up with a situation where every 2nd train would be stacking behind the one in the station (In other words no point running a 2nd train) The correct maths is to acertain the loading time, add that to the cycle time, and then that is the number of laps each train can do in an hour. Then double that because you have two trains running, and one train can be let off the lift as soon as the other has cleared the first brake run. So say they could check a train in one minute, that means a cycle time closer to 4 mins = 15 cycles per train. So 30 trains per hour = 660. But then again, that 3 min figure could be inclusive of the load/unload time. Flash is 2 mins from station to brakes (Video was taken in testing with a slow lift) but the Alvey POV seems to show the lift going faster but unfortunatley cuts most of the lift out. so 3 mins total cycle including loading could be a realistic upper limit? In which case 40 trains per hour can be sent, which is 880 per hour.

  30. I don't think the clearance is to allow turning, I think it is to prevent the headrests from colliding. During tight dips and during the helix the tops of the seats could collide.

  31. They really needed a second train with a MCBR. You would have hoped this would have had around 1000pph.

  34. I had that issue with the headset the first couple of times, but I found if you tighten it as much as it can be that doesn't happen. My only complaint would be it's uncomfortable against my nose! A bit of soft rubber padding would no doubt solve that.

  35. @Flynn_Smith Ok I see what your talking about now. I thought you were talking about the bigger building behind it which is for JL. Hmmm that is interesting as its hard to tell whats happening with the lift hill on top of it. Also part of the reason is nobody in America even knows about it as the park did not do much of a teaser campaign. So many people in the states think that its coming in 2018. As they have not heard much about it till now. This coaster was not even posted in the top 60 attractions worldwide for 2017 article. As nobody knew about it officially.

  36. I got my fist VR experience today. You pay by card $5. You need to sit at the back of the train. I felt my headset was about to fall off during the ride so I had to hold it to stop it from slipping. I don't think the staff checked it before they started the ride. Otherwise it is a great experience, I will do it on each visit.

  37. WRONG (at all the backseat is bad comments) What do you do for the 6 months of the year this thing will run with one train? Simple, if you don't like gimmicks, don't ride backwards. If you want the back seat ride, sit 2nd to the back row, it's pretty well exactly the same as indicated above. Its a massive win and for the normal pack goer really high on the cool sale. Excellent move for the park in my opinion. Wait to see how many other parks order a new back row car. Also what the hell is wrong with all you 'too intense' people. Are you coaster enthusiasts or not?

  42. Also says it features the worlds first non-inverting loop. Perhaps the track is 61.6m and with the Jokers head included the ride tops out at 75.5m?
